I agree with the Parent. They might as well say that printing the coupon from separate user accounts, browsers or computers (separate cache, cookies, etc) is a violation of the DCMA. I mean why stop with just deleting cookies. And what about the preference setting to automatically delete your history, cookies, cache, etc. I hope that we have not degenerated enough as a species that a judge would seriously consider ruling in favor of the plaintiff.
I actually asked Wet Planet Beverages (Formally known at Jolt Co.) and they told me that it had 52mg/12oz serving. I must admit many moons have pass since I asked that question; they may have changed the amount since. We all know that they don't use sugar anymore!
People who use slack are not standard users. People who use slack KNOW what they are DOING...or at least don't mind learning. There does seem to be a larger gap these days. When I started to use slack in early '95 it was my first taste of Linux and I loved it. Of course back then if you used MS stuff it was DOS and Win3. Even OS/2 wasn't easy to install. I remember having to edit the config files on my boot disks to get my Sony CDU-33A 2X cdrom drive working for the install. Slackware recognized it "Out of the Box"! Anyways, Slackware is and has always been the best distro to wrap your brain around Linux. If you want to know how everything fits together, go Slack. if you don't like SYSV style init, go Slack. All else....go elsewhere, it's your choice!
What is even more amazing is that Doom3 would run on my GeForce2 MX400 card under Linux, no chance of that in Windows! I think that shows that OpenGL does have something that DirectX doesn't....albeit no standard interface for input or sound. Maybe we need OpenX:)
In the US (I don't know about the rest of the planet) the "airspace" as far as it is concerned with radio transmissions is public domain. It is one of the reasons why it will never be illegal to acquire and radio signal entering your property. The aforementioned is the reason the larger networks, such as HBO, started to scramble their signals. Anyone with a C-band dish was able to pull the feed and watch for free. You could still get some "wild feeds" for the big three (ABC, CBS, NBC) and watch that week's episode of pick your favorite show early, or watch the newscasters walk around the studio:)
Which is generally funny when it comes to minivans:) Can someone explain to me the point of not being able to open the trunk of a minivan? I didn't think so.
I'm just talking about the stuff you can find in the "everyday" stores. The eggs, for example, are labeled as being manufactured in England. In the US we don't get much of Cadbury. Just north of us in Canada gets more, although the quality leaves much to be desired:( According to Wikipedia....the Hershey company made the 2007 batch for the States...I think I'm glad I didn't buy any this year.
There are American pizzas that use very good sauces...just not any of the Chain stores. There is a local pizzeria near me that use exceptional sauce and high-quality mozzarella cheese...none of that fake stuff. Just a delicious thin crusted pizza. Of course, on oft he local grocery store chains uses what they call "real" cheese, but I've never seen a post-melted cheese that looked like slimy plastic:)
Cadbury made in the UK and shippedto the US is crap....whereas I like Cadbury Creme Eggs...I still know that the Chocolate is crap. Ok, the creme is crap as well, but I'm an American and I don't know any better. (That should be my new sig)
It's funny, because in the US even chocolate that SHOULD be good (ie: made in Belgium) tastes like crap. I'm pretty sure that all manufacturers cut corners if the product is destined for the good ol' US of A.
When it comes to chocolate it really does suck to be an American:(
The biggest problem is that it has been a problem for so long that the majority of us don't know any better.
"...complaints on less than one thousandth of one percent of affected discs shipped)"
The operative word here people is SHIPPED...says nothing about the actual amount of discs SOLD. Who knows, given the quality of movies lately it could be 50% of those sold:)
At least in new york an ambulance may not just blindly run a red light. They must first stop, then they are allowed to proceed. This is of course to help prevent accidents with drivers that can not hear the sirens or those who are simply too stupid to pull over and stop for an emergency vehicle.
Personally, I believe that police should be held accountable for their actions, IIRC it is not legal for police to disobey traffic signals/signs, etc. if there is not an emergency.
The problem is that Verizon ADVERTISES the plan as unlimited. Although I can not say from experience, it would not surprise me if Verizon employees also advertised it as such or just not mention the fine print when signing you up. Remember, it's all about the money...they want you as a customer and if you manage to miss the fine print for 15 days, after which they have you as an income stream for 2 years (before which you can legally terminate your contract w/o penalty). The previous poster is correct. Verizon should not be allowed to advertise in such a misleading way.
Hey! I resemble^H^H^H^Hnt that! No seriously, Whereas the Parent post is uncannily accurate about Radio Shack, you can actually find knowledgeable people there. I know, I used to work there.....part time, over the Xmas shopping season....you can actually make a good buck there if you don't mind talking to nit-wits. I was referring to the other employees, not the customers:)
The problem with dropping the penny is that the consumer will unvariably get screwed. Consider all of the pennies that you receive during the year. If the penny was dropped then everything you buy will be rounded to the next nickel. You can be sure that neither the government nor the retailer is going to give up the extra cents. You may think that loosing up to 4 cents per transaction is nothing but consider that you do tousands of transactions a year, retailers to millions apon millions. They could net a tidy profit with this. This will especially hurt low income families as well as Wellfare reciepients as they are counting pennies all the time (figuratively, of course).
I don't think that it is a Good Idea until the country moves to an entirely electronic system. Then you don't have to worry about it and you could have nano-pennies!
It's a culture thing. Here everyone in America is taught that drinking is bad. Very Bad. Only drunks do it. Etc, Etc. BTW- Where I live it is legal to allow your children to drink on your own property, so long as you are not "endangering" their wellfair (it's amazing what the Dept. of Social Services will call endangering), which pretty much means don't let them get trashed.
I have never understood the 21yr drinking age anyways. Like the parent said, if you start drinking young you learn to respect it and to know your tolorance. If the drinking age was considerable lower, say 12-15, then maybe America wouldn't have so many stupid drunk 21yr olds getting in their cars completely hammered and crashing into telephone polls. Nah, we're kinda stupid that way and probably wouldn't learn that anyways.
I was refeering to more physical contact. It is difficult to get the full idea of a culture's differences (or similarities) with out experiencing it first-hand, IMHO. On a similar note i am sure that most Americans don't even think that much about other STATES in daily life. I just know that I wouldn't dislike someone/group of people because of that.
Plus, on the Internet, generally don't tend to think of someone having a nationality, unless we happen to be talking about that:)

I wish I had some mod points....2 days too late :(

Hurray for Slack 12.0! Great job, Pat!
Me Too :) Never seem to have mod points when I want to use them. I always manage to get them when people post nothing but dog drool....um wait...

Why, yes, this is a car... But my name's not Jack.

Um, actually, you are required to pay a licensing fee to be "allowed" to pay music for shoppers. It falls under "public performance"

What about Buffalo Wings?
Mmmmm....Garbage Plate.....definably Rochester. It is just too bad that there is only one True Nick Tahoes any more.
Man, I could go for one now!

AVI is not a file format. It is a container format.
Sorry...I had to; can't let misinformation be spread on Slashdot....what would the world think?!
