well lets see.. when things from home linux boxes start serving other purposes (hosting things such as shells, images (photoalbums as the dude above said), samba, etc) things start to get real complicated for the "home" linux box. because of course you are running a lot more "vulnerable" services that lead to the compromise of other "vulnerable" services. whereas windows really has a few "major" flaws (yes i love using ""), including IE, Outlook Express, etc (yes we all notice the trend, its ms products)
and to answer your question, I pwned one of my friends linux boxes the other day, just because he asked me to see if I could find any quick "script kiddie" exploits and voila I did.
they think graphics mean everything. lets see, doom 3 wasn't spectacular at all outside of the graphics, nothings changed except the graphics.
now lets move on to wolfenstein, what happened here, instead of killing nazis you are killing nazi zombies, oh wait, and improved graphics.
now lets see about quake. oh, they added a nice rail gun and improved the graphics, but that was about it, oh yea and they removed a real "singleplayer" mode with story (see: q3a)
are you starting to see a trend here ? they seemed to be more obsessed with graphics than actual gameplay. they don't seem set on actually changing the parts where they fsck up, but rather putting up a graphical facade in hopes that players do not notice.
wow.. since when has ignoring a problem been the best path ? Iraq is a problem, the government funded and harbored terrorists. as for Al-Zarqawi, he had ties before we invaded Iraq (see: Colin Powells speech before the security council)
and of course, you state that we "destabilized" that region.. when was it stabilized? There have been attacks way before we even "invaded" Zarqawi himself was behind a planned attack in Jordan, and wait, lets look at Israel, yea, that whole area was certainly stable.
they found the same thing after challenger. I mean nasa really doesn't seem to care about safety.. basically, any screw up they have had they were told way before they even launched that there would be a problem, but apparently they never care about safety, all they want to do is make their launch date.
but really, what is the point of running linux on every console that comes out. especially on hand helds, I can see maybe on the xbox, dreamcast (eh.. not without the bba), but really what is the point?
is there actually a function besides 'OMGS I GOT LINUX ON MY DS!'.. way to go you.
seems like sony is always vulnerable to this. the original psx and the ps2 both had swap tricks, but of course they really didn't screw up like sega did with the dreamcast. I mean anyone with a cd burner could burn games and play both online (PSO, NFL2k1, etc) and offline.
it is only inevitable though that no matter how great the security is, someone will crack eventually.
Yes, a lot of space on one piece of media, and you accidentally let it get scratched or something and there it all goes. Yes the space is nice, but what to do when its all wiped out with a small scratch?
why shouldn't you?
now if this doesn't give our government more reason to hate cuba I don't know what will... yes, our government loves microsoft for all good things they have done for our country (monopolies leading to fines, jobs, etc...)
will this be an actual ff game or will it turn into a MMORPG.. because I honestly don't like the direction that ff is heading, and obviously sony doesn't have much of an online thing going on so it really is better for them to move to the xbox with a real network setup rather than each company having a different online setup.
does this work with all alcoholic beverages, or only wines ? I do not see how it wouldn't work with all of them...
so this must mean I can order some everclear now, maybe. maybe not:(
ok.. dedicated servers to handle this stuff.. its not going to accelerate if someone starts abusing it.. not to be cynical, but thats just people do to nice things.
after seeing what nascar drivers do, and seeing this (granted they are two different things, but essentially the same), this inspires me to recreate the interior of a car, like those cheaply made ones in the arcade.. like that f355 challenge game, for the release of gran turismo 4 next week
i'm sure with the great invention of wireless internet and the introduction of it to universities, production has gone down..
now even with PDAs you can connect to the internet, and hell even with phones you can instant message your friends or even follow a conversation in an irc channel..
the internet has killed off production:) as has slashdot!
am I the only one who doesn't see the point with this toolbar? I mean im sure there are programs which inform you that there are messages in your inbox, and you can set your default search for yahoo (in the little search box to the right of the address bar (default of course))
I mean, what else is it going to add? Popup blocker? -- already covered.. quick search? -- already covered -- Link to Yahoo news? -- Maybe a google news quicklink on the bookmark toolbar...
imo, its just a waste of programming time, and space.
google has finally taken over the interweb..
this mapping service makes me cream my pants, a lot easier than going to mapquest, soon I'll be able to just type "LAX to ONT" into the google search in firefox and i'll be set!
to me the vhs was dead years ago.. i thought this was almost completely obvious. only if my university would figure it out though, it sucks trying to find someone with a vcr to play a tape a professor wants you to see...
it seems to be better in some aspects, but certain pages it crashes and crashes more often.. i order pizza a lot and it crashes all the time on pizzahuts website, same with papajohns.. maybe its their site but it doesn't crash at all with ie, or opera only mozilla & firefox
I could start doing this. at the rate my shrimp molt in my fishtank I could become a supplier!

its like adopting a starving child in djibouti, but without having to send them a postcard
powerful movement.. its like cyber terrorism, but what we do is not illegal !

so I should not strive to live the office space life ?

"so and so says microsoft is crap" seems like a lot of these are on /. lately.
I paid $5 for two legit copies.. but that was from msdnaa

im glad to see more places going wireless... its nice going to the beach here (in california) and being able to grab a wireless signal...

google is taking over the world, again. first they add the maps this week and now this..
