I had an argument with my friends the other day, mainly about how species differentiate. If a person becomes a different species, they can't mate with the other persons in the population, since that's the definition of a different species.
My question is, do generations become new species (or lose their reproductive ability with members of the previous species) at once, or gradually over long periods of time? Because at some point that has to happen, and I can't imagine it happening gradually, they either can mate or they can't.
Law enforcement on the internet is really hard because there's not just one country in the world. How do you deal with a nigerian scammer if you live in France, or with a russian spammer if you're in Greece? There's not much anyone can do, in these cases.
I don't trust these shirts. How are we sure that nanotubes won't break away or escape from the shirt and enter the lungs? How do we know that they're safe for people to wear? I think we're set for another DDT-style disaster here.
We all know that wearing jumpsuits, walking in a building (greeting everyone in the way) and getting the computers you want is much easier than trying to hack into the system to get the data. Same for passwords, etc.
The masses almost always value security over freedom until they have so little of either a revolution is born.
This is probably the best phrase I've ever seen. I hadn't thought about this until now, I was just wondering how (since societies apparently eventually seem to self-regulate and converge to some point) it is possible that so many freedoms are continuously chipped away from the people. Now I realise freedom is not a graph that converges somewhere, but one that lowers enough to pass the tolerance threshold, where a revolution brings it back way up, only to get it chipped at again in time.
Furthermore, I'm not sure I know of any other social animal that acts like this: individuals called specifically as individuals by other members of the same species in the wild.
My mom used to say that another species does that, "humans" I think she called them. She also always told me to stay away from fishing nets.
What are you talking about, it's just code? I was playing Fable and I couldn't burp in front of people because I was too embarrassed, I had to walk around with a halo from all the goodness. I can never become evil in any game that gives me the choice, even when I try I pity the person/thing/whatever I just wronged and reload the game:(
You can get small-as-hell DVD players now for about $40 at your local Target (which will probably be cheaper than the Revolution add on.)
That's exactly why it's an addon. If you can get a DVD player for $40 (and probably have), why do you even want another one? Just save the cost of having a DVD player in a console.
Besides, I wouldn't feel as well buying a console with a DVD player if I already had one, because of the overlap.
Can a processor like this do things like play sounds? If it doesn't have a clock I don't think it could measure time accurately so it could reproduce the samples. What other drawbacks are there?
What bugs me about these bots is that they don't know what they're talking about. Most are responding to what the user says. It's difficult to hold a conversation with such a small attention span. Even if they do hold some kind of state, they still don't know they're talking about, say "chatterbots", and that those have attributes and do actions, and so have something to say about them.
Dross indeed.

All but = almost. Almost a necessity.
Just relabel the buttons to "No, thanks" and "Fuck off". Has anyone ever seen ActiveX controls do anything useful, anyway?

This works as well.
Nice, more software for Motorola phones which they don't have to pay for.
See title.

Actually I'm from Greece, so it's more like 4000 years for us. But yeah, 200 years for you.

I live in Greece, we have these sort of ATMs for DVDs here.
Hot chicks at the counter?
Microsoft didn't cry foul about that either, I think Google is wrong (or not very right, anyway) in this case.
What is the reason for this? Why would you spend $1000 for high framerate? At least for casual (or even hardcore) gaming, I find this stupid.
When I had a 100 MHz PC, I had a 1 GB HDD. Now I have a 400 GB HDD and I don't have a 40 GHz processor. What are you talking about?

It's true, I had to show her where it was.

How do you pronounce "eu"? If it's how I think it is, "fuck.eu" would be a very nice domain to have.

1. Create huge heat-powered laser
2. Shoot the beam to outer space
3. Profit!
