Yes, but it doesn't mention more power, just talks about the size. If these give the same amount of power today's batteries do, that's really no breakthrough.

I've been using hotmail since the late nineties and guess what my space is at now: Same as what it was then (2 mb). That's right, I have 2 mb of storage space. Gmail has 2-3 GB (I've lost track) and my POP mail client (Opera) has as much as my PC. Does hotmail have ANYTHING going for it any more?

Why do we need a .xxx domain anyway? Will it make easier for people to block these sites? You can't get into them unless you pay anyway. Is it better for categorization? All the other sites are in 2-3 TLDs. I just don't see what this would help.

After reading that site and a few stories of users that have had their accounts locked by PayPal, I'm convinced that that is no rare phenomenon and I try to avoid using PayPal as much as I can.

I am eagerly looking forward to an alternative like GBuy (is it really?) so I can feel a bit safer making transactions on the web. Knowing that I might create something that finally allows me to make a decent bit of money only to have PayPal lock my account and take all of it isn't very reassuring.

  15. Sudo on Sudo vs. Root · · Score: 3, Interesting

What the article mentions is not really a big problem, since that is more or less what would happen if someone guessed the root password (then they could tamper with anything, including the logs). If the administrator isn't knowledgeable, both sudo or root can get hacked, but this doesn't mean that sudo is worse or has more disadvantages than running as root.

Personally, I prefer sudoing a shell to run as root so I don't have to type the command all the time, but that's just in my home Ubuntu installation which I don't care much about.

I don't get it. Does everyone except me have that big a problem with spam? SpamAssassin deletes 99% of my domain spam and Gmail catches another 95% or so. I only see one spam message every month. Granted, I don't get many (about 20 a day) total, but I don't see any of those, and I would imagine that people that got 100x that would only see about one or two a day.
