  1. Might not work on Engine for Collaborative Science Education MMOG? · · Score: 2, Interesting

I'm not sure creating an MMOG to teach students will actually teach them science. What will most likely happen is 1 student will figure everything out and then post it online and everyone else will copy-paste his directions and not learn anything, just like it is with most quests in MMORPGs. Also how would you pull them away from games like: WoW, GWs, CS:S, Halo 2 etc. and get them to play an educational game? The only way I could see getting them to play it would be to have teachers integrate it into their curriculum but there's still the 1st probelm

Have you ever been in boy scouts? What you stated is the common stereotype of how boy scouts appear to others. Reaslistically boy scouts are some of the most fucked up people you will ever meet. I have not met a single one who was a not a perv (molestor), pyro or a knife phreak myself included. Anything they do that aids the community isn't because they want to improve their community but because they need to do that for a badge, particularly eagle scout. Granted there are probably some altruistic people in it that are sincere but I haven't met any. I quit because the people in boy scouts are too fucked up after changing troops 3 times. It does teach good knot tying and wilderness survival skills but morals? Pfft

So we should settle for a poor review because the reviewer is too lazy to do an adequate job? Honestly I don't even read "professional reviews" because of that plus they rate games way too high. Ex: Look at all the recent games that were rated a 10. That's ridiculous a 10=perfection and very few games can't be improved upon. What pisses me off even more is when they review a primarily multiplayer game but rate it only on the single player.

I'm disapointed that they aren't improving the spawn system. It has to be the worst spawn system of any fps I've played.

You spawn not away from people but away from people fighting. This means that you can spawn right to next to someone and be killed before you have a chance to do anything. This also means that in team games like CTF you can spawn way outside the base when the enemy is stealing your flag. Also there's no immunity timer so you can be chain spawn killed by a good sniper.

1 mil going to 2 mil is much more impressive than 1 to 10. Sure the percentage is much larger with 1 to 10 but the volume is so small that the huge percantage is negligible.

Imagine your pay check went from $5 to $10 while your friend's paycheck went from $.01 to $.10. 5-10 is a substantial increase but .01 to .1 isn't because really you still can't buy anything with a 10 cent paycheck.

  10. Re:Not just blogs on Survey Reveals Americans Support Blog Censorship · · Score: 1
What do you expect high schoolers to believe when they're censored every moment they're in school? It may or may not be purposeful mental conditiong but it is conditioning them. When people are repeatedly taught that they must not wear these clothers, can't tell a teacher to fuck off, are limited to writing about non-controversial topics if they want to get decent grades and see no overall negative consequences to this lack of free expression it conditions them to believe that a lack of freedom of expression never results in a negative outcome.

Furthermore they're exposed to this kind of repression at home. If your parents tell them not to wear X type of clothes they don't, and they don't tell their parents to fuck off either.

Granted censorship of some degree is needed in public schools to keep order, but when it is enforced to this magnitude throughout most of their childhood, it conditions them to accept censorship in the future.
