this is a theory. and it's not even a new theory. wtf? are media hounds so desperate that they have to dig up old magazine articles and put them online in order to keep forgetful or uneducated readers occupied???
i really dont think this is a new process. i could swear i remember reading about this a looooooooooong time ago in a magazine or a physics book, like at least 5 years ago...maybe more. i think it was a Department or Energy facility that was doing this. either that or i'm experiencing deja vous....which has been happening alot to me lately...weird.
i've alwayw believed that it's wisdom, not knowledge that determines intelligence. in other words, it's how effectively you use the information you have, instead of how much mass information or calculating ability you possess. an autistic person may be able to calculate pi to the umpteenth degree, but may not be able to determine whether a person is crying because the are hurt, or out of joy. intelligence should, imho, be judged by how diverse the person's ability to utilize what is available to come up with solutions. often you will find people who are very intelligent, but have little or no secondary schooling. this means that their repository of knowledge is less than say, a college professor...but that doesn't mean they're any less able to utilize the information they have already gathered already. human psychology is a very complex and varied thing to analyze. yes, there may be some basic underlying consistencies, but the variations in how much those consistent events affect the person make for a tough knot to unravel.

Radio was never concieved in the beginning as a way to give artist exposure, but that's what it ended up as, in addition to being an advertising tool. To be honest, radio is more of a producer's tool, then an artist's tool. It enables a producer to reach millions of people easily. Very rarely do you see an artist who has enough pull or money to break into the radio scene by themselves. The internet is much more of an artist's tool. There is no money needed to get exposure on the net. You can reach an international audience. You can get direct feedback from listeners. The artist chooses what music to release, not market predictions. There are many many other examples. As a musician myself, I can vouch for the efficiency and usefulness of the internet as an exposure tool. In my opinion it's better than radio by leaps and bounds. Radio won't get my music heard in Japan or England unless I'm with a producer. As of now, I have listeners in many different countries.
MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA....LMAO.....*breath* *whew*...that was a good one. i've always wondered what happens to all the drugs that are confiscated by the DEA. now i know. they're given to our lawmakers.
Let's see here: budget cuts, failing space program, failing economy, global criticism regarding human injustices abroad, rapid decrease of freedom and increase of governmental power...sounds alot like the SOVIET UNION doesn't it?
that the best solution for me is to have 4 harddrives in my computer with a boot disk set up for each drive. that way when i want to browse around i only boot up #1. making music? i only boot up #2. games? only boot up #3. art and documents/financial stuff...#4. when i'm not browsing the net, i have a manual toggle switch on the front of my case that physicaly breaks the LAN connection. and my router takes care of all the port sniffers. it's a bit complicated, but it's the easiest solution i've come up with for a consistently stable system. there are less driver conflicts as well.
there was also a very briefly reported on problem this morning with the fuel tank heaters. they had to send a team out to the pad to investigate/fix it 45 minutes after the mission control manager ok'd the fuel tank for filling. i'm wondering if all these budget cuts and slashed government funding are starting to show themselves...
yeah, ok...whatever. who wants to sit and watch a robot play the guitar?? who wants to listen to cold, unfeeling, perfectly played notes? that's not music. the wonderful thing about truly great performances is that the artist pours his emotion and feeling into the music. the slight nuances and variations in note strength and length are vital to conveying emotion. sure, these can be REPRODUCED on a computer, but they will never replace human performances...EVER.
put him in charge of the IT department in any large scale office environment with more than 25, but less than 50 employees.
1. He won't get any help because they'll keep telling him they're over budget.
2. He will spend hard time each day fixing not only the problems that he helped spread and design, but all the annoying little in between stuff that has to be done NOW. (like trying to resurrect Outlook profiles after ghost emails start appearing)
3. The work-to-pay ratio will be so off that he will think that he is losing money instead of earning it.
4. He'll be too busy to consider a script for CounterStrike, much less writing code.
i can barely see them (eyes aren't good at all), but i thought they were just flashes of light...dunno. if they are specks following the same trajectory, then i'd have to conclude that the main speck i saw is an anomaly of some sort, but it seems pretty solid, and it moves in a curving trajectory. something i did notice though is that there is no sudden flash on the comet...it seems to slowly grow in brightness toward the end of the clip. i would have thought that we would see a pretty sudden flash or increase in brightness.
I think part of the problem is that proper English has taken a back seat in the past decade (and perhaps before then) to slang. Many of my international friends have told me that Americans are so hard to understand, because they rarely use the proper English that is taught in the classes that immigrants take to learn the language. Everything is either shortened, or substituted with slang, or said too quickly to understand. Imagine being from, say Iraq, and hearing me say "hey, check out that chick! she's HOT!"...lol.----Then there's these abbreviations that we all use on a daily basis in email, IM, text msg's, etc. Besides, you don't have to be a spelling expert to yell at employees for downloading email attachments from an admin that hasn't worked there for 3 years...
Still not my favorite UAV...

The paragraph submitted above for this article makes it seem like Lucas is hoarding all his money and somehow going against a cardinal rule of not making money. For one thing, non profit artists may seem romantic and all, but in truth we all want to get paid...and if what we do is make movies that cost millions of dollars, you better believe we want to get paid millions of dollars or more. Secondly, it's not like he's spending all his money on Bugatti's and trips to Bali...he's invested a large chunk into a creative complex where artists and movie-goers can benefit from his fortune. I'd say that's pretty damn cool.

wonder what they're going to do with 26 miles of underground space? might be some fun urban spelunking in say 10 or 20 years!

if you look carefully, you can see the "flyby" part of the spacecraft doing the 14 minute burn to get out of the path of the comet...pretty awesome.
