is that really comparible?, is it a group of profit mongering corporations looking to force the universities to have strict policies enforcing their will, or otherwise be fined to the point they'll have a hard time funding many (any?) students.

The whole thing is basically criminalising all the students, before they even are students.

@GP, flexibility is always going to be more important with such things, if you don't want to move your pallets don't, but what about all the people that do. No one should be so arrogant as to assume that their way is best for everyone, give people choice whenever you can.
I did regularly have to move pallets around to work properly, testing the new CS3 UI I found I didn't have to as much, they really did a good job with that.

Photoshop is used for countless things, different uses need different settups, the modularity, flexibility and workspaces to save your set-up are fantastic.

They point and laugh despite fairing just as poorly because Apple themselves, and not just the zealots, mocked vista for the same things as if it would never happen with an apple system, and frankly with the VASTLY smaller hardware and software set it really shouldn't.

The only thing I find makes me chuckle though tbh is the last minute removal of features (time machine to airport, that's really messed some people around buying hw specifically for it) and the approve-everything UAC like functionality so mocked in vista also (no X second grace on after elevation any more).

It's nice to hear when it does install properly most are pretty happy with it so far though.

  16. Re:It has been like this for a long time.. on Listening To The Radio At Work? Prepare To Be Sued · · Score: 1

So basically it's a recording industry trying to con establishments into buying Muzak, so they get additional monies & royalty payments, because otherwise they're listening to the FREE PUBLIC RADIO for which everyone within the range of the transmitter may listen to at no cost, because the broadcaster is wholly responsible for the payment of all royalties, in an agreement that gives them full permission to broadcast.

Personally I believe it should be completely up to the establishment if they wish to pay for the privilege of choosing their own customer targeted content with no advertising, or merely tapping into a free broadcast and be at the mercy of the DJ, and any advertising.

They won't really be happy until speaker-less earphones that wire direct to the brain are all that's legal, the broadcasting license exists entirely because they can't chase every individual on the street up for royalties for any snippet of music that might have leaked out of a speaker.

They've probably been pushing this threat for decades, just this is the first time it's fallen into court, hopefully it will be treated with the non-respect it deserves.

I guess they're hoping they'll win, so they can go on to sue every other mechanic in the country, and all the hairdressers too.
