You know... when IS the right time to kick-start a stagnate space initiative? Mars is an obvious goal for space exploration sometime in the future. The fact that it's happening now is a good idea for someone wanting another term to see it through. Your comment would be worthy after his second term if he sat on it.

Your bulleted list is lame and isn't worth responding to. It shows you know little about what is involved. That is what happens when you simply read and react to the headlines and not explore the whole picture.

Bush is a bold president. He is doing things that simply have to be done, no matter how ugly it may seem to us know. I believe history will show the overall positive changes his decisions have made.

It's important that we (American citizens) urge our congressmen to not exchange dialog with Iran's ruling Mullas. As long as the US is courting Iranian government, it makes it harder for the younger people there to fight for their freedom.

Iran's youth believe that Islamic fundamentalism is medieval and not compatible with modern peaceful civilization and are desperately trying to change it.

This is a start for true peace in the middle east and Iran could be the model for that in the future.

We as American citizens can help the Iranian people by writing to our governments and asking them to clamp down on any political ties to the rulers there.
