But it's not just linux, many others OS's are on the same lists. But I do find that unix users seem to have the worst additude. Lets face it folks... all OS's are made by inperfect humans. Hence, they ALL have their good and bad points. Can't we all just get along and try and make the best OS a human can make ???? and stop slamming the other guys and learn from the it. Lets face it, since the begining of computers we have been taking idea's from other OS's and adding it too ours. Linux rocks, drop the additude and maybe it would go much farther
I see the Main computer companies as the big problem for this. The preloaded machines are coming with programs like weatherbug and other such malware. They say that they are trying to get rid of malware, yet they preload it. This is like adding a filter to a cigarette. The end result is the same... DEATH
This is how I get many of my machines free of charge. If you use windows, it is better to get rid of them, then to pay to have them cleaned up. For me this is heaven! Even on old machines I can install DSL "damm small linux on them. The better ones I get debian running full tilt, servers and all. For once in my life.. I can say Thanks Microsoft!
Any program out to make money has a good chance of having adware in it. This is why I run Debian and Ubuntu. Commercial motives are always to make money any way they can.
Rather than waste money on web site marketing and trying to game Google, invest in building content on your site. If you do this, your links will grow and your Google ranking will go up. It's really that simple.
Simply put. Simply done. Forget getting trying to beat the system. Just work on making the content better and watch your logs, not google's
Excellent point. I hate spam, popups and such, but it is very true that the document has been altered. If they sold magazines without the ads in them for a dollar more..I'd buy it. Then I could see a lawsuit to whomever makes the ad less magazine over copyright laws. I don't think this would ever happen over the net. Lawsuits only happen when big bucks are lost. Most popups don't bring in big cash.
This is why I read all posts and not just the so called high numbered ones. A different view doesn't make it a bad post.
the more we move backwards. I think I go back to lynx. Say goodbye to all the flash, java and all the noisey bloated webpages, which all seem to be just selling junk anyway. Security should be #1 on a browsers agenda, then adding fancy adware. It seems as the least used browser tends to be the best security...
Beginning users don't need advanced menu's, and if they do...buy a 3 button mouse or control click. The last thing my parents need is more menu's to figure out.As for the control click, My parents are more point and click kinda people. They would never use the "control click" menu.
The answer is simple, it's the question that's hard.
If I need the "right click" all I have to do is hit the control key. For new users all the extra menu's just add confusion. If I need a 3 button mouse, then all I have to do is BUY ONE... end of subject...done and done!
Size does matter.... No matter what system you like to use. The big proplem with size on PC's has been over heating. G4's have run great without the heat problems of PC's. It seems that Apple is moving in more of a PC marketing stratgy and that is a big plus for Apple. Remember that Beta tapes were better than VHS but VHS won out because it won the market. Same is true with Microsoft. Apple is moving in the right direction
In the 3 times that this happened to me in 2003, Once the company called me and asked me if I had made a purchase, which I didn't. The second time the card company said " the account was compromized". The 3rd time "my atm card/checking" somehow was taken and emptied in france. I have no idea how this card was taken. I only used it at atm's. Since then I use equifax.com to monitor all my accounts. All has been well since then.
Hey I'm not some confused aol user !! Wait I was on aol when it was a BB. Guess this makes me one of the under 100 IQ's. Aol has done a lot to help me fix windoze spyware loaded machines. Where am I going to earn my extra cash now ?????
The book "C++ GUI programming with QT3" comes with a non commercial windows edition and Borland C++ 5 (free) or Borland C++ 6 trial edition. Also has the mac os x and *nix versions. You could also use cygwin and the QT ports for it. Well worth the price for the book....
Awesome and so true......yet,
when I run my *nix boxes. I feel like that john keeps going back to the whore that gave him the crabs.
When I run OS X, I feel like that kindergarden student that's sitting all alone in the corner because he was bad.
WoW !!!! this sounds so good:D But hell they've been extorting companies and people for years now.First it was the first hit for free drug deal aka IE for free. Now their into racketeering. Pay M$ or your network will suffer. M$ is just killing M$ with this pay forever stuff. What's next? they'll beat up grandma. So glad I'm an apple and linux user.
Bet you it will let Microsloth's adware get thru and any other goodies it can make $$$$ on. The best spyware removal will come from outside of Microsloth's company. Like spybot search and destroy which is free. Not to mention it is the best removal tool according to most major PC magazines
In a perfect world I would say your correct. But the past speaks for itself. Who better to catch the bad hackers, then someone with experience. Take the case of Frank W. Abagnale jr. I'm not saying that doing the wrong thing is ok, I'm saying knowing how to do the wrong thing is of great benefit. And the government will and does hire those with that expertise.
