Communism means one thing and one thing only: the workers own the means of production. Citing a failed state that did just about everything wrong that it's possible to do wrong within a system no more disproves the value of communism that doing the same with a similar capitalist state would for capitalism.
You forgot hoarders. I know a number of people with terabytes of pirated games, software and music on their computer that they use little if any of. They pirate because they enjoy being part of the community and/or just like collecting shit.
And you're a retard. Certainly the NASA plan is dumb, but done right larger rockets have an inherent efficiency advantage over smaller ones to get the same tonnage into the same orbit. We don't need small rockets, we need larger rockets that are well designed and mass produced allowing us to leverage economies of scale.
Of course, the best solution would be to ditch chemical rockets altogether. A space elevator, launch loop, or linear accelerator would all be good (though the latter two, not so much for manned missions if that's you only method of launch, the G-Load would be a bit high. Could use them for a 'running start' on a manned mission though and save a bunch of fuel). Project Orion, a NSWR or a Nuclear Lightbulb would also be good, but those all have scaaaaaaaary nuclear elements in them and the first two would, by their very nature, release a certain amount of radiation into the atmosphere so will never happen. A fusion torch would also be good, but we can't even get net gain fusion in a closed reaction yet so that's pretty much a pipe dream for now.
Make a name for themselves? How do random acts of violence do that? If you're recognized for it at all it will only be in a bad way.
I'm 21, so not quite the same age bracket as the people doing this, but still. Times are rough, and they're certainly a lot rougher for the people doing this shit than they are me, but I'd be a lot more sympathetic if there was an actual goal involved or a conceivable way for this to improve their situation in the long term. Since there isn't, the whole thing is just dumb...
I know you're joking but this is the exact same attitude that has game devs expecting people to use the gamepad while playing on a PC just going in reverse. I happen to prefer playing most games with a mouse and keyboard but I've met plenty of people both online and in meatspace that prefer playing with a game pad. And what's wrong if they do? Choice is good.
Not that you're wrong but there's a fairly good argument to be made for avoiding contaminating your chemical processes with food residue/your cooking with chemical residue.
Canonical money will win over the original Ubuntu users.
Other distros won't really be affected as such, because they'll still have the same user base they do now, which is clearly sufficient to see continued interest, use and development. If Canonical makes it big using their own take on a Linux desktop, so what? It's not like they're going to magically make everyone fly away from whatever they use now and as long as there's at least one user who knows how to code and wants to keep using it an open source project can never really 'die'...
You do realize that the problem happens when you hold in in a specific way right? I don't know about you but I generally keep the same grip on my phone for the entirety of a conversation. So looking at dropped calls isn't really helpful here because if you're holding it so you get the signal loss you probably won't connect in the first place and if you're holding it so you don't get the signal loss you won't have any problems...
To be fair he could be using XP X64 (though then you get the joy of about the worst driver support you're going to find in a mainstream OS and all sorts of freaky bugs and 'issues')...
But the problem is not every big guy owns an x-box (and ever since the S-Controller was made default that's shipped with smaller controllers too). There are 3rd party controllers for most every console, but the quality can be dubious...

Or the corporations will finally finish eating the government and you'll get put on the list for being a 'disruptive non-consumer' ;p
Hear that whooshing noise? That was his point going over your head...

And for fuck's sake, don't go near that field of funny looking flowers they found nearby...
I think they mean you get to pick ten of whatever games you want (that are in the store). At least, that's how I read it...
The word you were looking for is 'obviate'. Obliviate is the memory spell from Harry Potter...
$4.35? So the BC is up again?
Oblig. XKCD reference: http://xkcd.com/378/
I still had 486 laptop with a 700 meg hdd in in when we got our first desktop with a CD burner...
If you're gonna feed the trolls I hope you remembered to use the right set of pots and pans...
But the internet feels better without a virus scanner on!

When he took it out again there was a virus on it...
I'd say you forgot "In Soviet Russia..." from your joke but we're already there!

Don't forget Uubuntu for those who actually like unity...

If your look a bit farther up the thread you'll note he lives in Finland and as such doesn't face a lot of the problems we Americans do...
More like tellaw ruoy htiw gnitov...
