    The problem is that your boss usually don't think that travel time it's work time. If you are in the office and must go to visit a client across the city your boss thinks that you aren't working.
    If you need to buy a new printer for you home-pc, where you work usually, that's not working.
    If you work at night, when your boss isn't watching the damn thing, you aren't working.

    It's not important where you are. The important it's that when the job has to be finished it's finished.

    It's just like PCs. You think that you can do multitasking, but if there are one-processor PCs it's beyond its capabilities.
    But I can do Co-operative multitasking while I'm reading slashdot I watch TV and if my boss calls me I'm "working" too.

    So it's only an FBI trick to get access to high level areas on MMORPG.

    Before 1999:
    As in the United States, France has long classified encryption as a military or dual-use technology, and accordingly restricted its export. It received special treatment in a small flourish appended to the 20-page telecommunications law of December 29, 1990. Article 28 of this law required government permission for any use of encryption.
    No immediate action was taken on what the French refer to as "the December 29 law," but six years later a more comprehensive bill was passed. This July 26, 1996 law specifies that users of secret keys must store them with organizations that will furnish them to government officials as needed for crime-fighting purposes, a plan commonly known as "trusted third parties" or (in the United States) as "key escrow," "key recovery," or "government access to keys."

    If JK.Rowling can chose not to make a movie with Spielberg any one can have creative control. But book authors are more interested in money than in the creative control. When they have the money in their pocket they complain about the creative process.

    The GNU General Public License has done possible the existence of Open Source. So a lot of people thikns that it's a great idea, and I don't think that they are religious fanatics. They just prefer the GPL filosofy and objectives.

    I just want my software to be free (as in beer) and usable
    If you want gratis software then just pirate it like a bunch of people do.

    What happened to Doom 3? Doom 3 SDK was released a long time ago and there are few mods.
    The mod maker Orange Smoothie has done nothing with the Doom 3 engine:
    D3M: In general the whole Doom3 community is eagerly awaiting a modification that will bring Doom3 to the well known glory of Q3A for example. From your personal view, are you convinced to fulfill this task?
    derean: Absolutely not, OSP for Quake3 has had hundreds and hundreds of man hours put into it by rhea and there is no way I could hope to put as much time into Doom3 as he did in Quake3. We can however provide a solid basis for future work and that's what we've set out to do.

    May be 3D engines and SDKs are too complicated? Or was every body waiting the Half-Life 2 SDK?
    I don't have a clue.

    Live-CDs aren't only good for test Linux, but Live-Cds are wonderful rescue Cds and make Linux-boxes where only windows is available.
    I usually use Slax because it fits on a small 8cm CD-RW.
    Gentoo it's another Live CD to add to the list whatever I can i'm goint to test this one.

    E-commerce Single Sign-On exists and it's name is PayPal.
    You can shop in thousands of stores at eBay.
    Even if you are a Slashdot Geek you can use your PayPal acount at Source Forge.
    Google search Paypal Donate returns a lot of blogs, open source projects and other webs that belive that Paypal it's the Single Sign-On E-commerce solution.

    85 % growth and 437.60M revenue says something about it.

    SMS it's like IMs but without a "computer", although current moviles are mini-computers. Both can be used for conversations.
    In my opinion old Telephon calls are better than IMs and new Movil calls are better than SMS, may be kits are being prepared to Mars-Earth lagged conversations.
    blogs: All its content it's Public. Some people can use it to have a conversation but it can be weird.
    E-Mail it's great for off-line messages. You aren't in front of a computer 24/7, may be Slashdot users can do it but "normal" people can't, so you can check all your mail when you have time.

    But finally the teenagers do whatever their friends are doing.

    IBM is mostly supporting Linux as a shtick rather than completely backing the system and it's ideals, they are not opening up their code in a great big flood of free IBM software.
    Green Hills Software products aren't open source, what Green Hell has done is use Linux, not more not less.
    If IBM isn't really supporting Linux, Green Hill position it's worse than that.
