man you must be new school. I remember the days when we played with 300-600 ping -- and loved it! This was back in the glory days of HL. Back when it was unclear which mod was more popular: CS, DOD, TFC, or Firearms.
christ, I still remember the days where you didn't even have a ping, back playing Duke3D over 14.4k modem. . .

I'd mod you informative but alas I have no mod points. I'll just comment that regardless of performance/capabilities of OpenGL and D3D, when developing for Xbox360 and in some cases Windows dev environments, there is no choice. D3D is what you use no matter how much you want to use OpenGL.

I wasn't disputing whether XIII is obscure or not, I was disputing your inference that America doesn't have graphic novels.

with that said I should have read your post more clearly before posting myself, since it seems jackassery can be easily taken from any context.

Again, For the record, I am not American.

And yes, AM vs EU dick waving shouldn't be done on Slashdot.

Well since you know so much about comics of the world you might be interested to know that in North America we have comics and we have graphic novels. I hear in Japan they have comics and graphic novels, as well as most parts of the world.
I think you could pull out the spider-man or the superman comics and then bring out XIII and say you're better because its a graphic novel, but that's an apples to oranges comparison.
Try comparing something like Maus to XIII and then come back and tell us America has "comics" and Europe has "graphic novels."

For the record I am not American.
