put it in Canada and you don't have to worry about getting attacked. . . either that or reduce your military and stop pissing off the rest of the world:P
Alternativle you could just pave over Iraq once you finish it off, then make your facility there.
have the door open/close either vertically, horizontally, or outwardly. Anything other than inwardly. ..
you should also consider punching out the ceiling tiles, set some 9' wooden beams up there, and place the cases/UPSes up there.
in my place of work we have a raised floor, i bet stuffing a few machines down there could work out, perhaps it is similar at your job?
If all the walls have 2 wall surfaces(cross section would look like this-> | | ), knock out the inner wall to get that extra foot or so of space.
I believe someone also mentioned hiding those servers in places they won't find and then ssh into them or whatever. ..
finally, with all that saved space go buy yourself a fridge and a gorge foreman grill, and put them in the room:P
Yes but my computer Is food, shelter, and education.
I use slashdot to get my education, I wear my laptop over my head when it rains, and if I get hungry I gnaw on the edges until the feeling passes!
Well, personally I wouldn't be as bold to say that Lucas Arts made SWG as horrible as it was, considering that SOE was the sole reason for the huge drops in player base after the "new game enhancements."
I can't agree with your argument that sci-fi games do poorly because they are based on novels or movies. As far as I know the only one based on novels/movies has been SWG. I think they just do poorly because for every one of them there is atleast 5 fantasy games, that goes to say that you are 5 times more likely to see a successful fantasy game than you are sci fi.
I can agree with your argument that projectile weapons make a game difficult to design. I think it's more apt to say that the current design makes the projectile weapons more difficult to implement. It seems that for the first "domain" of MMO's was just copying the game mechanics from EverQuest, now the current "domain" is just everyone copying World of Warcraft. I think it is the developer's unwillingness to make a gamble on a new/different game engine that makes it difficult to implement the projectiles. It is also possible that the reason why EQ and WoW have been widely recognized as the trend setters because they took the gamble. It is fortunate for them that their gambles paid off in spades.
disclaimer: I've been known to store numbers in my ass for which to dig out when quantities are required.
with the current track record for the RIAA, I imagine about 2% of that would go to the artists. Spread that money over the thousands of artists, and they might get enough money to afford a loaf of bread and a jar of no-name peanut butter.
I don't know why I'd want to spend $300-$400 for a console when I'd have to spend $400-$900 for a PC to do the same thing for free.
As to waste money on simple game mods, I saw this storefront down town with a sign called "Blockbuster" originally I thought it was a store that sold tetris, but apparently you can "rent" or "pay money" to "temporarily own" a video game, then return it a week later. It's a totally amazing new concept, I'm so glad I wasn't born yesterday! My friends are glad too when I rent a game sometimes and download a few multiplayer maps to play in addition to the ones that come with it. Hell, even after playing some of these games I might consider buying them later on.
It's not that simple for some parents, some parents are simply never around
...
If those parents aren't around, they shouldn't be parents in the first place. That line is such a cop out, being a parent is a HUGE committment. If you can't make that committment, you SHOULDN'T have children. These are the same parents who blame the schools, the government, society, R rated movies, pornography, and video games for their own shortcomings.
Actually the free version of XBL serves its purpose. . . You cannot play games online, but the market place is still wide open to you. As far as I'm concerned, the market place is much more valuable than people would have you believe.
I have yet to buy an X360 game, but I've probably spent about twice the value of a new game just on XBLA games, map packs and car packs for games that friends/family own.
Currently I have the pay-for package, but I hardly spend any time playing online what with all the lamers, flamers, and greifers.
which is why we need games that are multiplayer AND have a story. I mean, just a year or so ago there was this survival horror game (I can't believe I forgot the name) that took place in a school and you could play co-op with another person. To be honest the game didn't play very well (I'm not a Survival Horror static camera kind of gamer) but following the story together kept us playing.
man, would it ever suck to be the minimum wager that the manager makes clean out the self-checkout.
I bet you could also convince the store's cashiers to quit as a form of protest. Then you could even burn down the building in protest! and piss on the ashes!
Is overboard a strong enough word for this?
Yeah, Especially if you don't have to subscribe for that initial 20 hours, I never usually buy MMO's cause its like $50, then $15 a month. But if the single player game is actually good I wouldn't feel like I was getting stooged.
well that is until someone decides that SOE would be the greatest fit for them. I could just imagine all the fun new game enhancements!

I think possibly he was unclear in what he said originally and you misinterpreted it. I think he was saying that the feature of spawning on a friend when out of battle is good and only suggesting that you could respawn creep, not that it is a good feature because of respawn creep.
then to clarify he says that it keeps people playing longer, which coincides with the original argument.
Anyway, I think the worst part of respawn creeping is the infinite ammo thing. . . I remember a few times my buddy and I would just kill each other for a few minutes making a stockpile of dropped weapons, then proceed with the level.
well those are my words in someone else's mouth, but its all in good fun.

It's as if millions of voices crying out at once... then silence.
Yeah I mean, it could have been worse right? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raccoon_City
I think Jay's crotch just burned all the good parts of the movie from your memory.

I was going to RTFA but I think I should get 50% of the ad revenue.

hey, some people have said that when it's bent it has a better chance of reaching hard to reach locations. . .
Okay, I couldn't keep a straight face after all.
output? That's just barbaric!
real hackers know the output before finishing with the input, no LED necessary!
really? It definitely beats $49.99-$79.99 CDN

wow. . . too much effort in my opinion.
I think it'd be easier and less painful to stuff it in a condom and put it in my ass!

or its like using a car metaphor instead of a bicycle metaphor!
I thought ATI was in bed with AMD. . . or rather, swimming in all the money AMD fired at them.
