"it used to be easy to toss out the trawlers based on their spelling alone."
while true, they all still contain some form of 'verification' and urgency to the request. I see 'verify' or 'confirm' and I didnt recently sign up for a forum or ask for a password reset, I get rid of it
they are agreeing to make a standard by merging the 2 types of disks, so they will have a standard and volume sales
last I checked, more than 1 company sold CD-R's. basicly this is what they want to do with the new DVD's, they want it so not just 1 company can make them (and therefore use them, ==more volume)
my aunt walked out of a store once and forgot to pay, and *did not* set off the alarms. when she realized what she'd done she went back to the store, and set it off going back in
a way to allow websites with just a few ads to get through... a threshold on the number or size of ads, as well as a "remove/white out object" in case the ad is a flashing one
in my case, the topo map is out of date... it doesn't have the road going through one area that it should. Satilite has the right idea... the road is not new or anything
hehe.... my router is within reach from where I sit, if I'm slow, unplug them, wait for them to get frustrated and get off the comp (or ask for my assistance) which is when I turn the filesharing off and put them back on
if you want to be educational too, you can have them build thier own for the computer (stepmania)
I did this... the design is simply 4 metal sheets on a plywood base, wires running to each, and 4 transistors to detect foot presses. you need to be holding a wire, pluged into the wall, but it only cost me $10 to build and its way better than anything else i've tried currently working on using a tone decoder, so you could just have something strapped to your wrist instead of holding a wire
it connects via parallel port using PPjoy, which can be a bitch. laptops i've tried it on tend to poll the pins i'm using to communicate after i've added the pad (just circutry behaves fine)
about buying mistyped domain names? shouldnt those fit the same catigory? shouldnt they just redirect to the correct spelled site? ( slashdot.com for example)
I set my monitor to 70 hz but couldnt stand the hum it started making (others heard it also) and when I swiched back to 60 I saw the flicker, but not for long.
I can tell the difference, it seems brighter/clearer for me.
and I can hear when someone turns on the TV or is channel surfing. Thats why I'm so annoyed when people keep changing the channel... the squeal it makes... its not exactly audable but you almost FEEL it
may have gone overkill on redundant labels, but then again, I dont ever want to see those sites (yes I have been able to avoid them so far, because I read bash.org before I came here/IRC'ing)
does a new development need to be f**king perfect? sure its got a few problems, and any program has limitations. just because this thing cant take absolutly any image and make it color perfectly doesnt mean its bad
personally I like the recoloring shots, I want to screw with some peoples' heads with that hehe

so slashdot doesnt deserve to get compensation??
and besides, would you rather have your purchase help out this site or not help any site at all (what would happen if you went in manually)?
You mean he's got a list of currently operating ROM sites? Bitchin!
in unrelated news, the book has already sold out to defence lawers looking to find probable new clients

i guess you posted as AC so you could still mod me?
Who spilled the java in my Mustang??!
slashdot should be able to crank up that number, so long as the web server doesn't go down
even if I agree to install it, its still spyware. if someone tells me "this is a trojan" and I install it, does it mean its not a trojan anymore?

I believe it means it can hold lots of different types of data, like movies and games (just like DVD stands for Digital Versatile Disc)

to power it you'd use induction... this is in use today on most electric toothbrushes
according to the article, the fine is 5% of daily earnings (about 100m a day) so as their profit increases, so does the fine
if you've ever read the book "Voodoo Science" there is a section that goes something like this:
the resultes are called "inconclusive" so they don't have to explain why they spent a load of money on a normal electrolysis cell
"suggest that as yet unexplained forces come into play when neutrons gather en masse"
morons... its called gravity. getting a whole load of neutrons together at near black hole masses tends to create a lot of gravity...

nothing. it takes 1 ms to check localhost, see that nothing's there, and give a page not found
its the same thing spybot does when you add its ad blocking hosts file. it redirects well-known ad servers to your own comp.
actually, you can redirect ip's from the hosts file
