Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that Macs are generally considered more user friendly for novice users, a group that I would guess video/graphics professionals would probably tend to fall into.
It's pretty common to see Naval vessels powered by an on-board nuclear reactor. Although I don't think the US Navy is currently running anything nuclear powered that isn't a submarine or aircraft carrier, they have in the past. Russia currently runs nuclear powered cruisers (such as the Kirov class) and icebreakers.
If you work on the Xbox, perhaps you can explain why the Xbox 360 won't stream video from Windows XP and even when you can get it to stream video, it doesn't support avi files. My chipped xbox running XBMC does both of these things, streaming the files from Windows Media Connect; which just adds insult to injury.
It plays those formats out of the box. The real kicker with Rockbox is that it plays Flac, supports gapless playback, crossfading and all sorts of fancy features not available in the Apple firmware. The ipods are amazing pieces of hardware, especially the video ones and Apple is definitely underutilising the hardware, if only to cut down on scary options for the average user.
The difference is that the car dealership doesn't make you sign a contract agreeing to any terms and conditions they see fit to impose on your use of the car for as long as the car is being used. The car industry also doesn't have every manufacturer imposing similiar contracts on sales of cars, forcing you to agree to these conditions, no matter who you take your business to.
sudo apt-get install rar
I had to do this to get rar files working in the default ubuntu archive manager. It probably needs universe or multiverse or whatever.
You can use your 360 to listen to the music on your computer via your home network quite easily. This is probably one of the dashboard features I use the most. Xbox 360 Media Setup
The idea is that the ppu is much better suited to physics processing, which requires architecture much more similar to a GPU then to a CPU. Hence why Ati and Nvidia are both getting in on the physics gig.
On the other hand, planes aren't normally flown on a crowded piece of tar at a distance of a few metres to tens of metres away from other cars/inanimate objects/schoolchildren.
AMD uses silicon on insulator technology in their fabs, Intel doesn't. SOI provides better performance for a given size, hence AMD 65nm is "better" than Intel 65nm, this is also why Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft are all using it in their next gen consoles.

AAC is a well documented standard, albeit somewhat affected by software patents. Fairplay is a proprietary extension upon this standard. From the wiki:
AAC, which was first specified in the standard known formally as ISO/IEC 13818-7, was published in 1997 as a new "part" (distinct from ISO/IEC 13818-3) in the MPEG-2 family of international standards.
You really think that users of compositing software compose the majority of graphics professionals?

Wow, they're bringing H.G. Wells back from the grave just to write an Indiana Jones movie?
and Powerbook did?
Are you thinking of Autopackage?

If you can jet-pack around, why are you bothering to jog?

Actually it is mole, "mol" is the standard abbreviation. BIPM - mole

If the video encoder you're using doesn't use all 4 cores, you need to change your video encoder.

He should have gone with a car analogy :D

The pagefile defaults to the root of the drive, not to the windows directory. XP and W2k.
Unfortunately, if Apple ever added this feature they would get pack raped by a line of lawyers a mile long.

I'm afraid your facts are incorrect sir. Although, within five minutes the wiki will probably support your view :D
Wait, so you mean to tell me that they are going to add new words into the dictionary? I for one am astounded.
Quicksilver was in the "Honourable Mentions" section towards the end of the article.
Surely Musicbrainz is a viable replacement?
