There are reviews praising and panning quake 4. They are quite varied. All i can say is that fi you are a quake fan, you will love it. The MP owns. If you only like CS/BF type MP u probably wont.
IS this what they have been doing with my MONEY for Cedega???? Instead of releasing updates?? There hasnt been a cedega update (besides for a guild wars hotfix) in fricking 2 months!!

Microsoft Live Communications is an invaluable tool for our Corporation. Before we upgraded to Exchange 2003 we used Exchange 2000's built in Messaging. I think the original posters comment just shows the lack of understanding many slashdotters have about real world applications of...applications...
We also have internal IRC servers running with eggdrops to run/report on certain scheduled jobs. I think creativity would be lacking, but there is no lack of corporate tools when you have knowledge and creativity to use them.

I see the comparison the original poster was trying to make, but i also see the complete difference in MS as a technology company. Contrary to popular belief, Microsoft isnt happy to sit around and ride out and pray they stay on top. They will ride out(to force people to conform) as long as they can, and when that time is up, they reach back and reinvent themselves again and again. Microsoft is not IBM and is a completely different beast. I stand by my call of MS staying king of the mountain for years to come. Google is attractive now, so was QWEST in the mid-late 90s, now they are just a Background player in telecommunications etc etc. Its a fad a trend.
No, i completely agree with what you say. I obviously cant 100% guarantee there arent backdoors dishonest employees etc. But with the recent Sarbanes-Oxley Controls, all of our documents are tiered to where only the people who should have access do. And if something happens we will know who/when where. But my point will always be, no way i can trust online security to someone who really doesnt know how important my documents are.
Because our company stores all user docs on our network accessible from any computer on the network/vpn/etc and backed up. Not only that, I/MYSELF have the luxury of knowing trusting how secure our documents are. I am not betting on someone else who i dont know security schema. I would not feel comfortable with this period.

The only reason you claim MS knows nothing about this is because your goal in life is to pray they go up in smoke one day. Microsoft reinvents themselves every 5 years. No marketing? How about a trailer commercial every 20 minutes probably. Sci-Fi just isnt popular enough with the mainstream to be huge. I liked the movie, but it did seem like a long EP. The 10 million it made is probably warranted. Especially for a series no one has heard of or cared about outside of die hard sci-fi peeps. Its like a Star Trek movie, they advertise nonstop for it, then it only makes 20 mil opening weekend. You can bet thats majority of star trek fans, hardly anyone else. Nothing to do with marketing, has to do with the stigma of nerdy sci-fi.
Fantasy has broken out of that stigma. Sci-Fi hasnt yet.
