I searched for Israel, and got a lot of multicolored, evenly spaced boxes(without any indication for what a particular color means). there were almost no clumps, which is strange since I'd expect radically different views to be expressed.
It's also weird that they included uncyclopedia as a source. it would be fine in a normal search engine, but here the results seem to come from newspapers and blogs.
There is no separation between religion and state in israel, so bible is taught in school. But it was never considered to include creationism in the science curriculum. Moreover, most religious Jews don't see a contradiction between what the bible says and the theory of evolution, and the fundamentalists that do, couldn't care less about the science curriculum.
how can a court decide that it's admissible? isn't there a law that makes it inadmissible? otherwise , how come there aren't more judges that allow it ?
I keep seeing comments like this regarding google's future phone network. but one of the main reasons for google's success was the unobtrusivness of ads. so there is no reason to believe that it will be anything like that.
And last August, the NSA issued a directive to its employees to report leaks of classified information to the media -- "including blogs," the order said
The NSA cares when the information leaks and becomes publicly known. I don't think they really care what credentials the person that published the information has. They don't define bloggers as journalists, but rather define bloggers as another group that might disseminate classified information, and therefore should be watched.
since we are going to live thousands of years, why don't we act now and make retirement age 800 ?
I agree that the copyright should hold only certain amount of years since publishing, but the part about our future longevity is absolutely irrelevant.
This is not about fighting piracy anymore. In this case they just showed they can block any site, by claiming it's child porn related. if TPB broke any Swedish law that has to do with copyright infringement , the police would have no problem shutting them down. Since they couldn't do that , they decided to take another route, a route that shows exactly why censorship is bad (the ability to randomly block sites claiming the protection of children/adults/small furry animals ).
Now if you got rid of the hard drive and optical driver, you'd have a better shot... I actually remember them mentioning using flash drives instead of the hardisk in the new laptop, so it's quite possible.
I think his idea worked the opposite way to Communist Russia, and more similarly to free speech. If everyone says what they think, how can the government prosecute all of them? the government wouldn't have to prosecute everybody, a few millions would be enough(just like during Stalin's reign). once you execute a few thousand people , the others will start keeping quiet. It might have worked for Gandhi, under the UK rule, but this idea is far from working universally.
It has nothing to do with DRM, lack of security or anything of the kind. they are droping windows only because of legal issues(they don't want to go to jail).
You see, the thing about Al-Manar is it's not some independent news organization. Al-Manar is Hezbollah tv, it was created by Hezbollah and exists to serve its causes. Basically, we are talking about a TV station that was created for the sole purpose of distributing propaganda. Since Hezbollah is a terrorist organization and is considered as such by the U.S, I don't see why it should be allowed to spread its propaganda freely.
Also, your analysis of the situation in Israel is ridiculous. Settler's opposition to the withdrawal has very little to do with money (and most of them are not from USSR). There are basically three reasons for their opposition.
a. a lot of these people are religious and believe that they have a right to own this land and giving away parts of Israel goes against the will of god.
b. they lived there for many years, built their homes , raised their children (and yes, they have a job there- maybe even own a farm or something) and they don't want to start anew in a different place and see everything they worked for destroyed.
c.Ideology- they believe that giving away the land will not solve anything. The terrorist organizations have sworn to destroy Israel and giving them land will be seen as weakness and will only straighten their resolve to continue.
Well, how many 14 year olds have an ipod? and how many get an xbox for christmas? I'm pretty sure that the answer is a lot, and this thing is actually less expensive(and in my view much cooler).

You know, this is a VERY good idea. But seems to me that only if the actual process of breeding an albino shouting gorilla was described it would be informative(right now the parent post is rated 4 informative).
It will be really hard to jump ship if all the ISP's start retaning data.
Unless,of course, you can live without an internet connection(which I doubt).
Well, the razorback server didn't host any content , unsavory or not.
You could find the same files using another server on the network. And saying that it was a menace for society is like saying the same thing about ISP's, because they allow people trade child pornography or bomb recipes by letting them connect to the internet(thinking about it, the internet is a menace to society).
The article (at least the original one in Hebrew) doesn't talk about D&D but about LARPing (apparently it was mistranslated). Also these people are not automatically discarded but go through a psychological evaluation to decide whether they might pose a problem.
The article mentions that about 50% of these people don't receive a security clearance, which means that 50% of them do get it. The problem with the other 50% being that they have trouble distinguishing between reality and fantasy (this decided after a thorough psychological evaluation and not just because the army doesn't like the games they play).
Obviously the IDF believes that LARPing might be a symptom of a psychological problem but not necessarily the problem itself.
Russia's approach also seems to work: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/piracy/7713375/Somali-pirates-captured-and-released-by-Russian-navy-have-died.html
found this http://www.ghs.com/linux/threat.html on the Green Hills site, while looking for non-existent documentation.
there are a few other articles there talking about how horrible linux is.

who read it as "Traditionally the best treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder [PTSD] is being raped"?
are you kidding me ? riding a dolphin is what life is all about.
Are you saying that if a small town in north Carolina is attacked by missiles on a daily basis , the government gonna let them fend for themselves ?
from wikipedia: "the word Bible refers to the sacred canonical collection of religious writings of Judaism and Christianity."
,and the new testament.
the word bible can refer both to the tanach
