I don't know whether or not you're supporting their decision, but I have an iRiver H340 and I use the Rockbox firmware on it; if you hold the direction button down long enough as you're scrolling through directories/songs/files, the scrolling speed will gradually increase. It's not rocket science.
If you want to play the latest games at 1800 x 1400 or whatever than yes you will need a giant heat producing card with a fan that sounds like a jet taking off.
FUD, pure and simple.
For $30 (and less) you can buy a nearly noiseless heatsink that will cool your card better than most stock heatsinks (e.g. Zalman VF(7/9)00, Arctic Cooling Silencer line), and if you don't want to go the DIY route there are more and more cards coming out that have quality quiet heatsinks preinstalled (e.g. ICEQ3 by HIS).
Agreed. I use ~22GB on my iRiver H340, and that's only with music that I want to listen to, it is very nice to be able to listen to any song I want to when I want to.
The whiteboards in some Microsoft offices have the ability to capture an image and send it up to the computer, almost like a huge Tablet PC. I don't have that right now, but probably I'll get a digital whiteboard in the next year.
He doesn't say anything about SAVING up to get one.
In Daggerfall, in the manual, it basically said "made a mistake? why not live with it, see what happens".
Morrowind is a little different, if you kill a MQ character, uh-oh.
Oblivion, what if I don't want to do the MQ? What if I want to be an evil guy that brings about the ultimate destruction of the Empire, by killing the heir? Etc., etc.
Just for the record, it is possible to disable quest-important NPC immortality via the INI. Just another example of the dumbing-down. (Don't get me wrong, Oblivion does tons of stuff beautifully- but there are also many examples of making the game easier to play on the console and restricting the PC players.)
Something I haven't seen mentioned much is what affect the higher price of gas will have on truckers, both owner-ops and the larger companies. A bumper sticker I've seen many times on semis says "Without Trucks, America Stops", and that is rather true. An amazing amount of shipping takes place on America's highways, something that in a lot of other countries is done by rail or what-have-you.
I haven't bought a new game in ages. They're too fluffy.
The only game I'm playing right now is Morrowind.
I only got a bank account set up last week so I've been limited to browsing the used games section at EB Games and the like, but now, eBay, here I come.

I think the closer we get to release the more information will be released... that's what's generally done, anyway.
I agree with you right now though- so far, all their hyped features sound not-that-great.
On my Motorola i355, holding down a number activates whatever number you've got set to that speed dial number.
For simple EXEs you want to run at startup, set them as a scheduled task in the Task Scheduler and to run as administrator IIRC.
Check out the X-Wing Alliance Upgrade Project for some unbelievable upgraded models.

Since when?
Have you looked for similar businesses to this company, to see what they did and how they did it?
You turn it on and off in BIOS, no "attempt" involved. No reason to use it in most cases IMO. Just turn it off and see what happens.
I wish I had mod points. So true.
That's what us young guys are here for. ;-)

A lot of truck stops will have a cash price and a credit price for diesel (maybe gasoline too, haven't noticed).

It's nice to see a game dev company that makes great games remain independent. Here's to hoping they remain that way...
