You're more likely to be right then me, but if they're meant to generate capital, and thus, jobs... why do we have boards of share holders bitching when they generate too little in the way of capital? And why DON'T you see these same people reading the CEO's the riot act when they don't pour the money back into creating more jobs?
I don't know where I got it into my head, but I remember electrum being worth between a gold piece and a platinum piece. You're likely right (it's been a while for me), but I do wonder why that relationship sticks in my head.
Well, I'm sorry it wasn't clear enough for you. Simply put, I wouldn't want to live ANYWHERE where black vans could pull up within SECONDS. Just kinda creeps me out.
Very true, improvement is always good. But think - everyone's time is worth something. I'm sure even the least of us here MUST value their time at $5 (likely more, but let's assume a school kid for a moment). So, at $5 an hour, let's just say it takes 12 minutes (for the sake of ease of math) to work through what ever hoops are put in place to get a refund (I have no experience with iPhone app refunds, but for other things in life it's often annoying like this). Well, 12 minutes @ $5 an hour... there's a buck right there! So you would have been better off by 1 cent had you simply NOT asked for the refund. Now, if you figure your time is worth SIGNIFICANTLY more like many people quote on here... well, you can see how this escalates quickly.
No, I am in no way connected with them, I work for a small direct mail firm in Vermont. I have never used their product, and I can not say if it good, middling or poor.
Yes, I agree. Morals just muddy up the world. We should all be much more concerned with what's legal, rather then what's right./sarcasm
However, I would like it noted, I was not judging you, merely your actions (as is clear from my response). I have no issue with someone judging my actions (in fact, in many ways our world revolves around it). I believe the phrase you are referring to is judging a person as a whole. Maybe a small difference to some, but an important one to me.
Oh, no, sir, you misunderstand. I'm not offended. I've never been one to put high hopes in the profiles on on-line dating sites. That said, I'm glad to hear you admitting that what you do is deceptive. It may not be "Classic" fraud, but it's still morally wrong, and I'm happy to hear you admit that.
Please tell me you're kidding. Surely you can see how creating a "Dating Site" with fake people on it (completely fake, not just a slightly doctored photo to make the fat chick look OK) is deceptive? People go to dating sites to meet people, not meet computer generated "Name Pairs".
Eh, I'm not so sure about that. When I set up my space, it took me less then 10 minutes to find a pre-made theme for my page (I can code, but I'm lazy, and at the time MySpace wasn't a big priority for me... not that it is now lol) that, while not PERFECT, was very readable, and doesn't tend to make the eyes bleed (I don't think...).
I think the bigger issue is most peoples taste. "OMG! It is transparent AND it blinks!!!! SUPER COOL!!!!!" That, right there, I think is the issue. I find most people I know who have a decent sense of usability/design are able to put together a decent page from pre-made themes.(not that I do, I have a poor taste for design, I'm just lucky enough to know not to make things blink, to not have light-on-light, or dark-on-dark text and a few other things of that nature).
Maybe, but I beg to differ. I remember the original NES had an amazing tool that allowed you to look through the "laserscope" and say "Fire" and it would shoot the light gun. Or you could just blow into the mic...;)
But I could be wrong. God knows it works with the DS too... maybe it's just my age showing.:D
Just for the record, I was tempted to make a joke about fitting my bulky equipment up your Mom's wormhole last night. I did think about it. But I didn't.;)
Hey, honest question here. I'm a fan of D&D, Psionics in particular. Do you feel they're over powered, or under powered? And if you think they're OP, how come? I don't doubt you, I'm just trying to get a leg up in the next campaign I'm in (we tend to run fairly OP campaigns, and I find, as a Psion, that I'm often left in the dust).

Do you mean this: http://oculislabs.com/Products/ChameleonP.htm If so... then you might consider RTFA... as this is who they're talking about lol.

Pretty crazy. Makes me happy I don't live near there. Oh, and first post, I guess.

Or, you know, install uTorrent...
Well, you COULD create a second petition against the first...
You're posting on Slashdot... is birth-control REALLY that big of an issue for you? ;)

Bagh, stop giving him a hard time. Maybe she's emulated... or maybe he used Wine. ;)
Well, *I* found the comment funny, anyway. Faux +1!!!
Just for the record, I was tempted to make a joke about fitting my bulky equipment up your Mom's wormhole last night. I did think about it. But I didn't. ;)
Damn it, BOTH of these make me wish I had mod points. *sigh*.
You mean the noisy killer?!?
FYI, you CAN get good, high quality out of flash. Of course, YMMV, and it's not EFFICIENT by any stretch of the imagination... ;)
*plays theme song for Security Now!*

Ah, bitchen'-rad. I've heard the term, but not yet dealt with it directly. Thanks for the prompt answer!
