Creating a backup in itunes and using the program AptBackup to create a backup for cydia installed apps basically restores it to exactly how it was. Also, if the phone is broken to the point that it won't switch on then Apple wouldn't even know about it being jailbroken till it's been fixed, and if it isn't broken to the point it won't switch on then it's a very simple system restore process to get the phone to it's original state.
afaik I never did try and justify it's closed nature, I simply gave advise to get around the fact apple severely locks down. Also why even bother to jailbreak if you don't use any of the applications that jailbreaking is there for?
I have copy and paste on my iPhone and I can even run background applications when I want. Over a million people so far have jailbroken their iphone, there is nothing illegal or wrong about it either. It simply opens up the phone to the sort of apps that we all want but apple won't allow.

Others may have already told you, but http://www.cocoamug.com/adblock/ Adblock is available for jailbroken phones and does what it says on the tin, uses the same filters your firefox extension uses.
search for Quickpwn to find out more about jailbreaking.
Yet you fail to mention the fact that the English Navy made them initially fled due to sending fire ships towards them when they were originally grouping and then chased them up the East coast.
Also, 50~ out of 130 ships isn't "decimated".
Are you purposely trying to make it sound like growing weed is easy? As if you are then it's a complete lie.
The idea that you can "just water it" and it'll grow into the regular stuff everyone smokes then you couldn't be more wrong.
Take 5 minutes to check some of the online sites dedicated to growers and see the $1000+ they invest into lightning, room preparation with timed sprinklers, the weeks it takes to cultivate it and the personal time dedicated to pruning etc.
The is a real that the majority of weed smokers simply buy it instead of growing their own. Try and actually learn about what you preach before fabricating your side of the story.
sometime within the last 10 years a British citizen was nearly kidnapped by American authorities in Canada and thankfully the Canadians said "erm, no" and he was sent back to the UK. So even though the US may think they can do this sort of thing, most other countries won't allow it.
If you actually did RTFA then you have piss poor reading skills. He doesn't "want money from everyone doing anything vaguely similar", Apple approached him so they could use his case in a SEPERATE lawsuit they have that involved patent infringement.
This guy is just being used by Apple as a prior art example, they are also giving him money for helping them. Do you understand now?
for people questioning why the bank has your password in plaintext, this is because in the UK they have ALL your info in plain text.
Your complete credit card details including 3 digit security code on the back.
Your complete address, maiden name, old addresses etc etc.
They use all of this info to verify who you are before they tell you anything about your account, so you ring up and say "Can I see my balance", and they ask for random bits of the stored info.
You just have to hope that they aren't dodgy employees as they could quite easily steal it all if they wanted.
I'm not too knowledgeable about this sort of stuff but wouldn't the reaction of the new container being tugged cause the ISS to change it's direction?
unless that is only the effect on earth due to friction
As already posted above, the FOIA only applies to government organisations.
Majority of the CCTV cameras that people talk about are owned by small shops and private businesses.
Which is why I get so bored of the scaremongering that goes on on slashdot.
It can take police weeks to get access to the tapes from these CCTV cameras, it's nothing like 1984...
I've completed the story missions on GTA4 since downloading couple days ago and it took 30 solid straight hours, the story seriously pulls you in, even though it may sound weird but I felt more "attached" to Niko than any other video game character when I was playing.
Rockstar really did go all out with the story and plot twists with this game and it could easily be turned into an awesome movie.
Near the end of the game when you have to make certain decisions which have different outcomes for Niko's life, I had a major problem choosing what to do and then the consequences hit me pretty hard. It seriously is the most engaging game I'm ever played.
and then I haven't even started on the actualy fun gameplay changes:P
So what about all the non American black people, or the non African blacks?
If you are going to say "only x% of developers are black" then why not just use 'black' in the headline instead of the PC "African American"
Over a year ago I had two friends at college who both owned Zunes and I'm from the UK, they also bought it from a normal high street store in a fairly small town
if you had read the arstechnica take on this story you'd see that yahoo missed a great quote out from the head of the committee that decided not to increase the total length of copyright.
Former Financial Times head Andrew Gowers, who led the committee that produced the report, said earlier this year that his committee's work actually led them to conclude that the length of music copyrights should be reduced, not increased. Political realities made arguments for reducing copyright terms unworkable, he said. "I could have made a case for reducing it based on the economic arguments," said Gowers. "As it is, we left it in place rather than increasing it to 95 years as some of the music industry wanted and again, I think we steered a happy middle course rather than siding with one or other of the opposite poles of this debate."
This is great that someone in power and who has the influence to change things is seeing the real facts about the case
I've had bikes that have ranged from $1500 to $300 and all of them had the same issue, except the very few that used gear guards which are basically just plastic circular plates put between the leg and gear:P
I'm currently wearing track suit bottoms that are spotlessly clean on the right leg and have about 3 years worth of bike grease on the left leg which won't come out no matter how you wash them.
I've only ever ripped around 2-3 pairs of trousers and it usually happens when the wind is blowing your trouser legs into the gears.
Where as the oil and crap stuck to the gears is transferred to pretty much any set of trousers I wear when cycling:/

you could simply use md5 and use the IP as it's own salt.

Wow, embedding a flash movie directly on slashdot. Considering 90% don't RTFA this is going to be the worst /.ing that's ever happened!
10 rooms in the average house? 10ft high ceilings is average? what sort of rich neighbourhood do you live in...
what's Digg got to do with yahoo?
It's been asked at least 3 times in comments on this article yet still no one seems to know the answer to how uploading will work?
anyone?!
