    No matter how you slice it or dice it, the market basically decided that MACs were overpriced, so more bought PCs. Marketing can only take you so far. You got a better bang for the buck by buying the PC. Apple never understood that.

    Out of the box, you have PPTP vpn, which is possible to find but hard to install. Also, you can run office 2000 on it without anything but sticking in the install disk. When you install any apps, an icon is created. So basically this distro just glues all the stuff thats out there better than anything else.

    Common man! Java is the most unstable, buggy OS ever.. So SUN does not put out the stable software some think it does.

    I run a big organization of over 2000 users. Since we are running Exchange 2003, Firefox doesn't work too well with the web access. It shows emails, etc, But drag and drop features dont work. If someone could get this working, we could have many more users on Firefox.

    I could never run the AMD processor as stable as the Intel. Maybe it was the chipset, but in my opinion, AMD is good for gaming, but no way in hell would I use AMD in a server. Not if my job depended on it.

    I did my dissertation on Grid computing a year ago or so. My group predicted utility computing to be just like a power utility grid. You will plug in a device, and you will be charged certain amount of money per MIPS or some other form of measurment of computing power.

    I do not think you would be tracked everywhere you go. There is no talk of a device that calls to see where you are or went. I think its some crude simple GPS that just measures miles traveled. Most of you are already tracked by walking around with a turned on cell phone. Maybe not exactly, but well enough. However, adding any more taxes is idiotic, its a matter of time before California comes up with another proposition 13 like referendum and will cap that in the butt.
