The fact that the new system will not play all the old x-box games is nothing new, the PS2 could not play all the psx's old games , if you look around you can find a list of games that did not work..
True about windows comming out ahead but I think
that Apple users need not worry since Apple's release
schedule is much more frequent then Microsofts.. My Windows
may be better for a year or two but then I have to
wait 5yrs for the next Windows to come out.. I can't
imagine where Apple's OS will be in 5yrs..
Even if Linux is / will be / better then windows I
ask the question WHO CARES?
People want to use there computers for work , entertainment, for x.y.z..
Only the hard core will order a Dell PC and remove windows and install Linux..
Let's say in Linux was just as good as Windows in terms of hardware support and software selection.
Let's say if that was the case Dell shipped OEM Linux on all there PC's , would the average consumer
uninstall Linux and install windows, my guess is no..
to gamers, even a cheap linksys router has port
forwarding features. When you go into the setup
there is even a tab called applications and gaming.
A 10 second google search say "Counter Strike port
#" will return you results for what port the game
runs on , open the port in the router and your
done. This is clearly an insut and a scheme to
take advantage of gamers, don't waste your money..

Believe it or not we use an air conditioner for the
room just as you have a central air unit on the
outside of your house. I have maybe 40 PC's and
Servers in the room and the air conditioning unit
sits just outside the room. It's been running
with no problems for 7yrs now. The few times it
did go down (blown breakers) it's amazing how
quickly the room heats up and how hot it really
gets without the air.
The setup was cheap and it's a low TCO if you
figure that air conditioner is very easy to
maintain and run.

wars tie fighter.. You have to mess with it a bit to
get it to run on XP and the graphics are painfull to
look at but nothing beats the missions and the
challenge of a "one hit your dead" excitement of
flying a tie fighter.
If you have a PS2 you might want to check out the
the old colony wars for the original psx almost
as good as tie fighter.

That's a valid point, I have both x-box and PC for gaming. It comes down to patience, do I want to wait a few years for Half-Life 2 or far cry to be ported to my console or do I want to play it now? If you don't mind the wait then do so, most hard core gamers are not going to wait. I didn't wait for Half-Life two but in case of Doom, I going to wait for the x-box port.

I don't understand the problem, I'm a bit jealous, I only have baseball cards and old coins to hawk for my gadgets..
I have not found a game as fun as the original star
