Reboot did use the term gamecube before Nintendo did. It was also a purple cube containing games. Perhaps someone at Nintendo was a fan of the show?
I still think Wii is a stupid name. You can't change the fact that "wee" can mean pee. Of course, it also means small, which is one of the things they're going for with the Wii. I wouldn't have liked the name "Revolution" either. The "Nintendo Go" name that was rumored a while ago sounds better than Revolution and Wii to me.
Isn't MPEG4 also a patent minefield? And there is an abundance of video online encoded with DivX/XviD. And I don't believe their format will overtake JPG. There are just too many jpg files out there right now.
"They're not going to sell the Wii at $200 because they sold every other console at $200, that's stupid!"
Why? People are expecting it to be $200, and they might be a bit disappointed if it were higher. Plus, as someone else said, $199.99 looks better. Microsoft might also drop the 360 core price to $250, and I think Nintendo would want the Wii to be cheaper.
OK, so it's legal in Russia. What about other countries, like the USA? I know downloading a work that is copyrighted here is illegal even if it's public domain in another country.
You can purchase songs withs URGE. I believe all of them are $0.99.
And the subscription model seems to be working for Netflix and the like. It's an option, you don't have to choose it.
At least URGE lets you try it for free without giving them your credit card number.
NOTE: Don't use the Rhapsody free trial. They require you to call some place in order to cancel it.
Huh? The Wii will be able to play ~100% of Gamecube games. Plus, they have that whole virtual console thing. Although that's a lot different, of course.
According to the article, they'd lose 19.5% of their customers. I too question comScore's methods. How do they collect this data anyhow? They have a web monitoring program that has been labeled spyware by some. Of course, they say it's "researchware". I'd say people who let the program spy on what they do "online and offline" are certainly much less likely to care about ads in games.
I remember the Mozilla suite with only the browser installed being faster than Phoenix for me a while back. I believe this was without the fast launcher running as well. I'm not sure if it's still the same with Seamonkey and Firefox, or even if you can still install only the browser component of Seamonkey.
Well, then you'd need to figure in the price of a Media Center PC, which the 360 needs in order to play your video files. And you still can't play DivX/XviD files. I like Xbox Media Center for the original Xbox. It can't play HD video, but I don't have an HDTV.
I'm still wondering if the PS3 will include Linux. That would make it a better media center than either the Xbox or the 360 could be.
Huh, when I click on Regions, I get "We're sorry...... but your query looks similar to automated requests from a computer virus or spyware application. To protect our users, we can't process your request right now."
What's with that?
I'm guessing I still won't be able to open up open documents on a public computer, where I'd actually need it. Office needs to support ODF natively.
And ODF documents have already "start[ed] to appear." What is that guy talking about?
I don't get much spam at all in my Gmail inbox. It has let the Nigerian scam email through a few times. Of all the spam, I'd think they'd have that one blocked pretty well. I guess not. I don't know if I've ever gotten a legitimate email in the spam folder. Of course, if I did, I probably wouldn't notice since I use a POP3 client and don't get the spam folder.
All Dell users will have Google as the search engine for the bar anyway. Many users will probably have the search bar set to whatever spyware/Acrobat Reader/etc sets it to anyhow.
You can just register multiple accounts. It's nice to be able to quickly find a song and listen to it once to see if you like it. I've used Rhapsody's fre 25 tracks a month for that. But Rhapsody likes to take up 75% of my CPU power for some reason. But it does let you listen to them at full quality, unlike this. And it doesn't seem to work on Firefox, even when I whitelist napster.com. It's still blocking an ad from another server for some reason, maybe that's messing it up.
Go do about:config and search for keyword. If you set keyword.enabled to false, it tries to add.com. So, it still goes to internal.com, but doesn't search google. If you don't want it doing anything, leave it enabled and set keyword.url blank.

I was talking about things like these Project Gutenberg texts. The page says they're illegal to download in the USA.
OK, so it's legal in Russia. What about other countries, like the USA? I know downloading a work that is copyrighted here is illegal even if it's public domain in another country.
Your PS2 is hidden away sitting on top of your PS2? Huh? And the Xbox has a relatively flat top. Especially compared to the PS3.
Are they sure you can't play the downloads in an earlier version of WMP? I know you can play them in Winamp.

I notice every image on spamorham and the guy's blog says "TRIAL COPY" on it. Why?

How many High Schoolers live on campus?

I think the bigger question is, will the PS3 run Linux? I'm pretty sure the Wii won't, but I remember something about the PS3 and Linux a while back.
No MemoryStick/SD/CF support or WiFi either.

It's supposed to be here, but none of the links on that page seem to do anything for me in 1.5.0.3. Is it working for everyone else?
They should make it changable by a script then. Like the home page.
