When developers start realising that the games that are best-suited to mobiles are short, simple multiplayer games a-la 2-player Tetris, then more people will take notice. I can't understand why Bluetooth has gone unnoticed by virtually all developers, it's been on many phones since 2001 at least.
Last time i went in a games store here in the UK (Gamestation), it was to playtest a DS. The smug bastard behind the counter told me i couldn't since the area had a reputation for being 'high-risk'. I walked out, swearing silently to myself i would never go inside another games store as long as i lived, also thinking "Isn't this industry in enough shit as it is without treating their customers like thieves?"
At least now I don't feel so bad when i get my games via bt.
The best thing about Samus

The Samus Mystique

is that her femininity isn't shoved into your eyeballs every 5 seconds. It's not 'SAMUS IS A WOMAN, SAMUS IS A WOMAN', only at the end do we find she's a she. It's cooler that way because you can kind of forget you're playing as a woman and concentrate on the *game*, which is most important.
I mean, yeah, it had Jar-Jar, but come on, Neeson kept some of the old SW spirit. Shame, Lucas being Lucas, he just had to go and kill off the best character in the prequel trilogy.
This is copied verbatim from the Darkain site, it pretty much answers your question:
"UPDATE There seems to be some confusion regarging the online hotspot connectivity with the Nintendo DS. These hotspots will not allow for every multiplayer DS game to be played over the internet. It is not a special router or a form of tunneling. New games for the DS (such as Mario Kart and Animal Crossing) are being built to directly support TCP/IP communications. As mentioned above, this can be implemented on a per-game basis, and now games are starting to be released to support this feature. Games that support TCP/IP networking will work with home based conventional wireless routers and access points (802.11B/G, not 802.11A) as well as internet hotspots. Nintendo is also releasing a USB wireless adapter for users who do not currently have wireless networks setup in their houses."
Why does it have to be such a PITA to get the 2006 DVD? (No jokes about the distro name;))
This is what the mirror page list says: "This is the raw installation tree for Mandriva Linux 2006. If you are looking for ISO images to burn CDs or a DVD, look in a few weeks in the other section of this page."
Yeah, I know I could just pay the money and d/l it today, but FFS, this is a really shitty tactic, forcing users to pay or wait. Bastards.
I've tried both Eclipse and BlueJ; the latter is built around a learning ethos, while the former is more suited to skilled developers who want a GUI up and running in a short time.
My advice to the OP: get BlueJ and 'Thinking in Java' as the parent mentioned, also its good to find some task you need doing that doesn't already have a program that does it, then do the program yourself.
I'm just glad they can't agree on one format. By the time either one gets to market, Average Bob will be so confused he ignore both, and rightfully ask himself, 'Do I need to go out and buy my films a 3rd time??'.
Thanks, that is exactly what I was after. Only problem is I have to downgrade to FF 1.0.7 to use it until the next non-beta FF version comes out. BTW someone MOD UP PARENT INFORMATIVE!
While I'm interested in reading what the guy has to say, I'm put off from reading the article because the designer doesn't want us to read it all in one go (presumably to maximise profits from advertising). This style of writing webpages has always pissed me off, and I just wish there was a Firefox extension that could fetch all 6 or whatever pages at once and display them in one go, thus solving the problem./rant off

damn, that game pwnd. i can still hear the sniper rifle - BA-DUM!
IMHO Pod Racer was a damn good game.
You were close, but you added 'SW' and 'themed', both were just unnecessary.

I think we should be okay as long as we don't round sharing Miss Congeniality.

the stupid thing was, you even put the word 'seriously' in there, and they still didn't get it.

These days they're called torrents.

Hear hear!
I was sure there used to be a big blue 'G' there somewhere...
..I want something that will let me charge my batteries by urinating on them! Oh, wait...
Well, it has UMS support, so I guess that means it should be fine with Linux.
Try here -> http://www.iriver.com/ I have an FP-890 and it works just fine with OGG.
well, to be pedantic about it, she was rescued by the other jedi.
