Nobody else mentioned it, but that's the best thing that could happen for the modding community right now. Just imagine the negative publicity for Sony.
That was the only game i played where i came close to crying, though I think it had something to do with the beautiful, haunting music. The plot was something that anyone could connect to (human race on the brink of extinction, but it was so brilliantly done). No other RTS even comes close to touching this one's feet.
I don't think Nintendo deserve praise for doing something that would probably have been expected of them closer to the release date of the Revolution, when everyone and their dog is probably going to have wi-fi access. Its like clapping for a politician who, when he's elected, says something like 'Okay everyone, from now on, we're going to let you use the library, no charge!'. Like, duh.
Look, I love Nintendo (and I mean *love*) as much the next/.er, but did i miss the joke? Or is this TV remote thing actually intentional? In that case, I prefer Sony's version.

... i much prefer Irivers, so I didn't know you had to shell out actual dough to copy your songs. Is this true? I know it said the Ipodrip only *automates* the process, but why not just stop at the instructions they gave? The point here is to try to save the end-user money, after all? I thought there must be a OSS/freeware program that does the same thing, but then i wouldn't really know, the UMS system on my Iriver does everything I need in that regard...
Tried out the RC1 last night. Didn't work. Uninstalled. Tried the Beta 1 this morning. Didn't work. Uninstalled. Deleted the Mozilla Firefox folder in Program Files in XP. Installed. W00T! My educated guess is it wouldn't start because of my extensions (Flashgot + Adblock). So you know what to do if you have those start-up woes.
(Flame)war was beginning.

... because it seemed to me that they have too much potential to destroy a person's sanity. Of course, 'offline' games can be equally ruinsome, but nowadays you'd have a hard time finding a game without some kind of 'save' function.
I know that MMORPGs also save your progress (wouldn't be much point playing otherwise), but its just not the same, because theres always the feeling that everyone else is flying ahead of you, and you just have to keep up, which kind of means you aren't in control of the 'world', unlike you are with offline games.
I think thats what it boils down to, ie. the save option. I bet most people who are addicted wish they could save the progress of the entire server or world or whatever, seems silly, I know, but it would save a lot of people from the desperate situation they are in. Your comments are welcome; I don't claim to have the last word on this, its just my take on things.
Morrowind in 14 minutes, absolutely hilarious to watch, and Super Metroid in 55 minutes, by Red Scarlet (IIRC) who is a *girl*, I was doubly impressed...
I find myself nodding in agreement with you. Or it could just be that I'm tired. Seriously though, I would love to see if they could come up with something that would match the gaming quality of Super Metroid. I don't know why game companies are so scared to do an 'old-skool'-type platformer.
Has anyone in the game industry asked to see if we're still keen on playing everything in an FPS style? Come on, Doom was groundbreaking (yeah, and Castle Wolfenstein if you want to get nitpicky), later on Half-Life (and CS) took it to the next level (of course there were plenty of stunners in between), but now I'm just personally getting fed up of the genre, because I increasingly feel like I've seen it all.
I get your point, but a lot of people do go out and buy the pirated game they played if they feel the company deserves the money. I'm one of them. I have paid for a lot of games after 'testing' them out, but OTOH I'm glad I didn't go out and buy every game that seemed good. Especially since most stores don't let you test the games before buying, unlike they used to do in the good ol' days.

Its too late to still be funny, but I hope now it makes slightly more sense :)

Ah, point taken.
Its sad when people fail to 'get it'. Didn't you take a look at the linked photo? Obviously my tongue-in-cheek humour is a bit subtle for /.

Just FYI #2, holding Ctrl and moving the mousewheel up/down (if you have one) also works.

Free Open-Source insurance! Er, wait, that was free as in beer, right?

For a second, I read that as 'mules aged 18-35'. Hey, I could be onto something here!
'And I can go to the English acad[e]my!'
Argh, that should have been English class. Why is the Preview button next to the Submit button?
Please go back to spelling class. 'Definately' was definitely spelt 'definitely' last time I checked.
... you want to DDoS the FBI? Sounds good, count me in!
Rent DS games? Not where I live, unfortunately.
