Hardware accelerated encryption is a good thing - hardware dependant encryption where decryption can only be done on the system that encrypted the data is not a good thing for vast majority of users. Almost every encryption system allows you to backup your encryption keys and use them to recover data - as a consumer this is a reasonable expectation. Unfortunately Companies somehow have come to believe that the owner no longer has rights to their data - and apple is the worst of the lot here.
Basically Googles automated fraud system suspended his account and threatened to delete everything in case he didn't regularize it within 3 days. the millions of dollars on the line was his account including backups etc. My experience in many cases corporate credit cards are simpler and prefered by the cloud providers since they prefer prepayment to invoicing. And no hyperscale public cloud provider will give you any useful SLA. just look at their published terms and conditions. they don't guarantee anything.
I do hope that at some point the Western civilizations are properly toilet trained and understand that you can't clean your backside with paper. A very good experiment i read about some where. Rub your hands in nutella and try to wipe them off with a paper towel. Can you still smell nutella ? Water is the only solution . Indian civilizations had a very simple method of maintaining hygiene. Eat with your right hand wash your backside with your left hand. Don't mix the two.... Now that we have better soap if we continue to follow this philosophy its much easier to keep things clean.
One of my close relatives has crohn's and a blockage would be painful dangerous and expensive. I assume a laxative won't work as this is the small intestine but are you drinking a lot of fluids or trying castor oil in case that may help lubricate the stuck pillcam ?
I think what Bruce is saying is that if the original software is distributed under GPL the modifications must be distributed under something that is compatible with the GPL and that any statements added to the license cannot take away rights to redistribution guaranteed under the GPL. I.e a modification based on GPL published source has to be GPL compatible.

The bigger question is should 2 actually depend on 1 ? It certainly makes sense that the people with the firearms be part of a well trained militia or at least have training . It is clear that the arms that the people bear are not to commit acts of violence against other law abiding citizens but as a means to be eligible to be a part of a well regulated militia. So wouldn't it make better sense to have the right to bear arms have some relation to the willingness or ability to service in a militia ? Just ensuring that everyone who wants a gun has to participate in community service might do good for the mental state of the people buying those guns.
so again , make it compulsory for gun owners to take part in cop ridealongs and neighbourhood watch activities. this will give officers trained in the use of firearms a chance to evaluate them.
any weapon can be used to kill... recently in Manchester a 17 year old who had a suicide letter and a knife was put away. he didn't even have an assault weapon. so if you ban assault weapons why can't someone do as much damage with a revolver and speed loaders ? It would probably be more accurate than an assault weapon on fully or semi automatic any way.... The point is banning a particular kind of weapon is only one step and may not be a useful one... having a proper registry of arms that is publicly available and having the need for people who own arms to prove that they are responsible enough to own them might be a better step. I.e compulsory registration, compulsory certification and some measure to ensure that such people have the right attitude to own a firearm - for example make it a requirement for anyone with a registered handgun to take part in a cop ride along at least once every six months.
Could be a us anti Eve's dropping device that had unfortunate side effects. The Dumbo's who deployed it couldn't acknowledge they screwed up without confirming the existence of the devices
