    I don't think American IT workers are necessarily lazy. But for the most part, IT people here are fat, emasculated guys with goatees, people that weren't popular in high-school, and never changed their situation in college.

    The problem isn't laziness, is mediocrity. The people are inherently mediocre, and their chasing away the real talent because the people that end up working in these jobs are the kinds of people that no one wants to be around.

    Is this really the smartest use of your time? /. has hundreds of thousands of users, and there is no shortage of crap. A solid majority of the posters are mediocre jc students or college dropouts. Do you really want to associate yourself with mediocre people? I can't believe you wasted as much time following some user around and writing that post. You aren't obligated to spend your time in a "useful" way, but is there any way you can possibly enjoy this?

    Computer science people might be good for hiring or networking with, but you really don't want to hang around any of them for anything beyond that.
