Licensing issues. I'm sure Netflix would LOVE to do that, but good luck talking the studios into letting them go international with streaming service. Plus, its pretty expensive to go from servicing the US, to the US and Europe.
The only tricky part is terminating the cables and making sure to get a clean signal. Then again, its not THAT hard to find someone willing to train ~20 people in fibre installation and get up and running.
Alternately, DO make passwords that will embarass people if used over the phone. Great way to slip in a little casual trolling. For added bonus, use a passphrase that is the entire lyrics to a song. For traditions sake, Fresh Prince of Bel Air and Never Gonna Give You Up are excellent choices.
Especially since, according to the CP spam I sometimes see, its quite frequently hosted on legit websites that have been hacked, and are unlikely to be monitored much.
Local small businesses, personal blogs, etc.
Methinks this will be no more effective than blocking porn at schools. May stop jocks from finding "www.tits.com", but it won't stop smarter users from finding more obscure sites or bypassing the filters using other means.
I have an aging gaming pc, and I upgraded (about 4 months ago) to replace my 21" tv and 23" CRT, with a 23" LCD hdtv. Got all the hookups for my PS2 and PC. Then, last month, I decided to get an xbox 360. Hooked that up to my monitor, and got a $5 HDMI cable from amazon.
After I move out, I'd probably get a big-screen TV for games, movies, and anime. I wouldn't get cable (not much I like on there) but might get one of the netflix boxes, since I already use thier online streaming service. Granted, it would be used mostly for games, but it is a lot easier to have 4 friends playing on a 40+ inch TV, then a 23 inch one.
So, overall, yes, the 360 may have been more expensive than buying the computer, but it also has less worries of compatibility, and needing an upgrade in 2 years.
The major flaw with your argument is that the legal system is based on "Innocent until proven guilty". The RIAA is accusing (seemingly) random people, seeing which of them are actually guilty, and tell the rest to ignore the inconvenience and hassle that they were just put through thanks to the false accusation.
If the prosecution wishes to withdraw the case, that is them declaring that "Well, I guess the defendant is innocent after all", and by withdrawling with prejudice, they are draining time, money, and effort from the defendants and lawyers without compensating them for it.
If the prosecution can not prove a defendant guilty, then they should need to compensate them for the losses they incured as part of the suit, reimbursing them for legal fees and time. At least for civil cases.
I'm still learning about threading and such, being forced to teach myself coding due to lack of competent CS teachers in my area.:(
Sadly, DF is still single-threaded, although it seems a naturally threadable game, as each dwarf is usually in its own little world, has its own tasks, etc. Then you can do a weather thread, a water thread, etc.
Could you recommend any articles about multi-threading in games for me to read up on? This idea intrigues me and I wish to learn more.
Gentoo was my way of learning a lot about linux sysadmining in a short time. In a couple weeks, I learned how to compile packages, manage partition issues, compile kernels, deal with numerous config files, and many other skills. I later switched to Ubuntu, but I still appreciate my time spent with gentoo as a great learning aid. Just enough help to make it not as hard as LFS, but hard enough to be challenging.

Am I the only lucky guy to have 2 bargin-bin fans (that came with my PC) together only make enough noise to be barely audible while sitting next to it?

Now, would I pay the same for Buffy: The Vampire Slayer?
1) No

I buy a lot of Anime DVDs, because I can make really nice AMVs out of them. I also download fansubs, because A lot of cool Anime never makes it over here (Akazukin Cha Cha, Sexy Commando, and others). If I was to be charged for those fansubs, as published by a licencing company, would I?

Very eloquent rebuttal, with many good points. Thank you for taking the time to write it.

Had a friend draw this for me. I think it speaks for itself.
Its sad that you don't see the benefits of good european humor. A lot of people don't see it, but I personally want more of those.
Well, it worked for me.
I started playing DDR a little over a year ago.
I dropped from 230 to 200 in a year.
DDR was the only thing I changed.
Hey... he did say bi.

Clothespins, Duct-tape, and 70 feet of rope.
Its a little drastic, but it "convinces" people easily.
One word:

Has anyone else ever used a Ultracade machine? You think hundereds of thousands of dollars would buy some GOOD licences.
They are optional!
You have the option of keeping your credit card numbers safe or losing them!
