You can redesign every plane, but still, it moves at 500mph, and the fading and Doppler effects will kill the cellular signal. Your handset is not capable of operating at these speeds.
You are missing the point here.
IBM and intel, on the same day (Friday), independently announced a breakthrough in transistor design.
Now isn't this strange? The biggest advance in transistors in the last 40 years or so - and two different companies announce it on the same day?!?!?
Fishy.
Good thing the lantern could last for at least 300 moves or so.
Did you use to turn it off when reaching a room with natural light? I always tried to save battery power.
Let's program our cell-phone to display random barcodes at a fast rate.
Put it in front of the barcode reader and wait for a few seconds. If we show enough barcode options, and I assume the barcode reader works fast, we might be able to fall on a valid one.
How many digits are there in a barcode?
You have something there, but I think that Google still has something under its sleeves.
for example, check out gbrowser.com and gphoto.biz which are both registered to google inc.
What are they up to? A browser and an online photo album? Wait and see...
Put Micro$$$oft aside, you have to admit there is something true in the idea.
You may know, that most mail spam is sent from 'zombie' computers, which have been taken over by spyware/virus.
Some of These computers might belong to some 75-year-old who touches his thingy once a year. So, these computer owners, by their 'incation', cause damage to others (in this case, the people getting the spam, the ISP's mail servers, etc.)
Why not block them? Really, why not? In the USA you could probably sue them too..
True, the line you must cross is very thin, (between what to block and what to allow). But don't disagree altogether, because there is something there.
From the article:
They quickly discarded suggestions such as Black Monday (too much like Black Friday), Blue Monday (not very cheery), and Green Monday (too environmentalist), and settled on Cyber Monday.
There are two different translation of 'Hobbit' to Hebrew. The story goes:
during the ongoing war between Israel and Egypt in 1970, a group of 10 Israeli pilots were taken as POWs by Egypt. During the few years they were in prison, they got a package from the Red Cross with the books 'Hobbit' and the ring trilogy (in English). In order to keep themselves occupied, they translated 'Hobit' to Hebrew. It took them 4 months to complete the job. After that they did not go to translating the trilogy (although they were in prison for 3 more years!) because they said the translation caused a lot of arguments between them, and disrupted the shared life they tried to create.
I read their translation and it is a fairly good one.
yes, then one side will reboot and the other continue to operate normally.

The thing is, in Googleplex they have a fishing pond.
you are aware of the fact that :x does the same as :wq, right?
Also, by changing three files in Vista, you can trick it to think it is Win9x, and use 50 times less memory than it uses otherwise.
Easier, results look much more professional, most editors are free, ...

All over again.
The Chinese translation will have a red cover, with a picture of chairman Mao on front.
They are pretty stuck in translating though, since they couldn't find anyone in the world who speaks both English and Chinese.

a gfx card that can draw not only polygons, but also natively draw round objects (i.e. circles).
And don't forget - never underestimate the bandwidth of snails with DVD wheels:2 6/2251234

You sound a bit like Bill Gates who said nobody will need more than 640Kb of RAM..
Also, data corruption has nothing to do with compression. Take an uncompressed EXE file, mess up a couple of bytes - and the whole package is useless.
The merging has not stopped - see other fields. e.g. the Europian Union now holding - what - 15 countries?
See, the problem is that /. is also a monopoly.
Maybe we need some government to regulate what can and cannot be posted.
Allow me to take sides, and guess that there is absolutely no connection between the 101 and the earthquake.
If anything, then surely the earthquake could be felt more on the top floors of the 101, that's due to simple physics.

I would call it - 'November's fools day'.
They forgot to put a no-killing-please section in the GPL.
Use xemacs.
Oh, and use sunscreen.
Maybe Marlon Brando will also get a part?
seriously, who besides Gene Hackman survived from the original 1978 cast?

Win XP was a dup of Win 2000 and no one seems to complain.
G.W.Bush is a dup of G.Bush and no one seems to complain.
Or do they?
