Most mothers don't want their kids anywhere near adult sites. This would be an easy way to block the sites until the kids gets horny enough to learn how to circumvent the blocking software..xxx - teaching a new generation how to hack.
Until the TV Companies come up with a good way to take content anywhere, I'll use this and bittorent to get the shows I want. Honestly who needs all those security features for legal downloads?
One, if a literal interpretation of the Bible is correct, what about all these fossils? Scientists have clear evidence of the evolutionary process throughout history via these fossils...where exactly did they come from if the planet is in fact only 6000-odd years old?
As a pastor and student of the bible I will tell you that you have an excellent point. What most Christians don't understand is how to interpret the bible. There is a biblical explanation to the age of the earth. The current time since Adam's appearance is around 6,000 years. But the earth is probably older. When Adam shows up on the scene God tells him to replenish the earth. That's clue 1 that there was a population before him. Also, in Genesis 1:1 God created the earth. The word earth is referring to dry land when you trace its origins. Yet a verse later we find the earth without form. There was perhaps a population of people, animals and vegetation, just like today, but was destroyed. There are a lot of other verses leading to this Pre-Adam Society thoery. This theory allows for a great amount of time to explain the fossils that some Christians will now acknowledge.
"They say that too many patches and we are not secure, or not enough patches and we are not addressing security well enough, but the arguments begin to sound specious."
What OS are they talking about? Sounds like my complaints with MS.
With the variety of window managers for linux and the underlying command line, I think it is managable for both. Documnatation won't be that big of a deal. Just have UberGeek.txt and WTF.pdf.
I use OO all the time and work and home. Works great for me.
But, everytime there is an announcment about some MSOffice thing the question is always ask ed, "how many people need stuff in Office that isn't in OO... blah blah"
Seriously do we have to always have the debate. For goodness sake show someone OO. If it works for their needs they'll use it. Worked for my manager and he used to be a MSoffice diehard.
The problems that OO has for the advanced MS users will be fixed when OO quits playing catch up and starts being innovative.
I just want to know what the twist is. Will GL make everything the way we expect like Annakin allies with Sith, becomes vader, get in a fight...etc.
Gotta be something more. I hope.
My apologies.
Here is where I'm torn. I don't think we should be intentionally circumventing copy protection. At the same time I don't think there should be copy protection to limit how I use the product.
Here's an idea, why don't they go after pirate rings and leave the legal folk alone. Oh yeah, its easier to punish everyone.
Call me a troll if you want, but I havent spent that much on Microsoft. When I built my computer I bough t a copy of XP Home and haven't given them another dime.
I've actually spent more on multiple Linux distributions. Of course thats because I was curious and doing my own price comparison.
I'll actually spend more money to keep my iBook updated with OS upgrades coming out every year. Don't get me wrong I think the price is worth it for all of these products but I was just interested on how little I have spent with MS.
This is why it is important to be as inefficient as possible while at the same time making your boss think your some sort of hero.
Its a delicate balance.
Sad to say I'm lazy and cheap on my Windows PC and ran with no Spyware/Anti Virus/Firewall protection for a long time. Stupid Eh? Eventually I install AVG cuz it was free. NO viruses
I also used Firefox/Thuderbird. Never got hit until I used IE for like 10 minutes. Then AVG popped up and said virus detected. Cleaned it out, don't use IE, forbade my wife to use IE. No problems.
Then I was curious about spyware. I've never had a slow down problem but since its the latest rage and all I decided to check it out. Nothing
Either I'm lucky, everyone is doing stupid things, or Firefox is the savior of the net.

But does it run linux?

GL is a big parrallel story fan. I've got a bad feeling about this.
Annikin becomes Darth Vader!!
Wow, what a great way to tell parents their kids aren't to be trusted.
God bless open standards.

If its endangered its because people do not use them? Shouldn't we just say 'end of life cycle'?
What am I missing?
1. Find a good product. 2. Buy the product threatening force. 3. Screw it up. 4. Profit

No don't use office.
Yes I know MS makes tons from corporations.

And we'd have more time to spend money. I think your on to something here. Go capitalism.
So they'll be releasing the original on DVD and replacing the actors a la ROTJ Young Annakin?
A remake! How original!
I don't think anyone is copying anyone. It's just a natural progression. However I think MS will "appear" to be copying Apple once Longhorn comes out.
