I joined Slashdot merely to post a comment on that particular article. First off, why are you referencing something from (I think) roughly two years ago? Secondly, why are you referencing it without checking it to make sure your facts are straight?
Houstonians seem to think differently. Although, I don't spend much time in small towns like Austin.:P So, I might have missed the "Music capitol of the world" slogan.
Have you ever actually driven through central Texas? There's a lot of green out there and it's all under governmental protection. We're not as uncaring as you think, asshole. You try managing a major metropolitan city like Houston. It's spread out, mind you. I can drive for 25 minutes while maintaining an average speed of 80 MPH before actually leaving the city limits. Try designing an efficient form of transportation around that. Not easy, is it? If we're going to lower the pollution rates then it will take baby steps. Also, the total state population coupled with how spread out each of our six major cities are (unless you count Dallas and Fort Worth as being one city, no one will yell at you about that very much) makes for providing power a difficult task. Houston's population alone is climbing to nearly 4 million. That's nothing to scoff at! So, before you bitch about Texas not being "green" enough for your tastes, remember the fact that reasons exist for everything. Didn't the Schroedinger's cat experiment teach you anything? And no, I'm not a member of the Republican party.
June 5, 2007 - Looking for more Final Fantasy following the Xbox 360 port of Final Fantasy XI? Then you're going to have to look to a different next generation system. A Square Enix executive has disclosed to Japan's Nikkei BP that the company currently has no plans for Final Fantasy games on the 360.
Noting that the PS3 is getting Final Fantasy XIII, the website asked Square Enix's Shinji Hashimoto if the Wii or Xbox 360 will also be getting games in the series. "For the Wii, we have FF Crystal Chronicles in production," replied Hashimoto. "As for FF on the Xbox 360, it's currently a completely blank page."
Strong words from Hashimoto, although perhaps if everyone goes out and buys Last Remnant (that includes you!), Square Enix will have a change of heart.
Movies and TV shows are viewable on the DS. You do have to convert files to an obscure format called "DPG", but it's not like the thing is OMFG 500 EM H ZEES FASTER THAN A COMPUTER! I'm rather impressed that someone managed to get a working codec on it, honestly. I prefer to just use it for music though.
Of course, everything you've mentioned can be done with the DS as well. Mind you, it does require a card reader, but that's not modding. You can read comics (image files) and e-books on the DS as well. Also, if you want to run emulators, you won't have to downgrade the firmware. I can't deny that the PSP has more horsepower than the DS, but they're both equally functional. Albeit, the touchscreen helps for keyboard input when browsing the web.
Windows has support for the Ageia PhysX card. Physics moves a little more smoothly and a brick will dent a Windows box in a more realistic manner than a Linux box. I hope that clears things up.

look! it's a bird, it's a plane, it's....a girl? yes, a girl browsing Slashdot on Linux
A girl? Where? Are you, sir, proclaiming that you are, in fact, a woman? I do not believe it! I have long-since come to realize that there are no women on the Internet. The fact that you would say such a thing is blasphemy in the eyes of His Great Noodliness. Also, even if there WAS a woman on the Internet, why would she be on Slashdot, of all places?
(Okay, I'm just being mean. :/)
Ah yes, but do they really have free will? Determinism (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Determinism) seems to make sense. The only fallacy behind it is the concept of random. Damn you Schroedinger! It's quite unfortunate that we don't know whether his cat is dead or not, because I would kill it if I could! And yes, I was aware that you were making an obligatory reference but I'm trying to have an intellectual discussion. : / I'm only an 800k so I suppose I'm still kind of new here. (Ha, took it from all the other posters!)
Unfortunately I have lots of girls that view me as just that. Doesn't mean you can't sleep with some of them; we are the uninhibited generation and fucking your friends isn't so wierd as it used to be. Makes it hard to meet other women sometimes though - they think that the girlie you're drinking beer (or coffee) with is your S.O. Amen to that!
Thank you very much for understanding that HyperTransport is NOT an AMD exclusive technology. It seems that few people I talk to are capable of grasping this concept.:D
The FBI has been contact. Your arrest is imminent. All your base are belong to us. ~NSA

No. What you're looking for is "mod-posterism". You can't post and mod at the same time, right? Unless, of course, you're CowboyNeal.
*WHOOSH*
Come on America, we need to penetrate more!

Thought you were responding directly to what the parent had said. Nothing to see here, move along.

He said "live music capital of the US". If you've ever been there then you would understand. :D
Someone please make note that this was modded "Insightful".
Ah, I wasn't aware that someone found a working exploit under the modern firmware. I assume you never upgrade your PSP, then?

Pittsburgh? Is the some sort of Canadian place? I'm a little bored, I'd take everything I say with an entire salt-shaker right now. : /
Right fun? You must be British. I'm from Texas. We don't understand you kind. :P

The cure is to close it! Preferably with something clever. My personal WEP key is BABE15600DDECAFC0FFEE15BAD
But whenever I look for lim as x approaches zero I always get a derivative!
