It kind of sucks for me, I just hopped ship from Comcast to Bell because of Comcast's lack of good support and their inability to diagnose anything. I had connection issues almost 24/7 - dropouts, slow speeds, packet loss, the works. After about two months of that I just told them to go to hell and switched over. I was fairly sure it was my 9 year old cable modem, but they refused to replace it. Now with Bell South I get line noise every night at 1:08 AM from some unknown source that drops my connection without fail. >:|
But then, as a previous poster mentions, if he releases it under GPL there will be issues with his open sourcing the project but not all of the dependencies as required by the GPL. While it would be good for bug fixing, the only way I see possible to open source the history would be under a custom license, or a BSD/MIT license, which wouldn't be good for him and his company. Just my two cents.
My family happens to be very good friends with Jerry Bruckheimer, and he brings screeners over quite often. Never once has it required a special DVD player to play. Maybe he has a different copy than most of the academy members recieve, seeing as he's one of the major players in the industry. We watched The Producers on new years on our standard Sony DVD player at home.
It's crap like this that makes me ashamed to live in Florida. Not only do we have idiots like Jack Thompson, but we have horrendous schools, idiotic school boards, and an idiotic government. Arrggh!
I have a 2005 Honda Accord Hybrid, and I have to say that's very true. Honda advertises 30 MPG in the city, and 40-45 MPG on the highway. My average mileage right now? 21.6 MPG. It's no better than a normal Accord V6 would be. I'm going to be taking it to the dealer, showing them the mileage, and complaining sometime in the next week. Add on to that that I do quite a bit of highway driving, my average should be much higher according to their spec. >:(
I also find it amusing how here on Slashdot, everyone complains when there's a dupe, but on Digg as far as I can tell everyone seems to love seeing the same article twice...
There's four GPUs on this system, just as there's four G5 cores on the G5 Quad. Two cards, two chips; four GPUs, four cores. So no, it is really not misleading.
Yeah, I also noticed right after I posted that about 10 other people answered your question, so sorry for the flood of "Well the 15 inch and 17 inch have it...":)
I've been getting a newsletter from investorsinsight.com that I never signed up for, and two weeks ago requested removal... Nothing. I requested removal again a week ago, and recieved yet another email yesterday which I forwarded to spam@uce.gov with a CC to both of the guys that run the newsletter. I also filed a formal FTC complaint about the company, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. Nothing has been done to them in the past about their illegal spam. They list their real address, they have a domain name, and even list their phone numbers, yet still nobody does anything about it.
Of course it's kind of hard to do anything about the V14igr|4 spam... Yes, I've seen it spelled that way. Viagiria, whatever that is. I've also seen C14l1a|s...
I love it when I'm having problems with my net connection, and I call up Bell South...
"Have you tried rebooting?" "No, that isn't necessary, It's a BSD box." "Well you need to reboot to refresh your I..." "No, I don't" "Well, hit start..." "It isn't Windows damnit, it's a BSD box doing routing." "A what?"
Sometimes these "techs" don't realize they're talking to someone who might not be an average user, or that the problem may really be on their end and not mine. Way too often they really don't know anything about the product they're supporting other than what their script tells them to ask/say to do. I know that Bell South's DHCP server advertises the wrong MTU for their network. When I mentioned this to their level 2 techs, the tech said "An improper what?"
For the record, it advertises 1500, which doesn't work properly. Windows handles this pretty gracefully, but FreeBSD doesn't. I can't say anything for Linux because I haven't tried that. The proper MTU is 1492, which works like a charm.
Haha. I've seen them three times, and yeah, James LaBrie is slightly* strange on stage... No arguing from me there.:)
Portnoy's lyrics aren't as bad as Myung's though, who's pretty much stopped writing - the rest of the band got tired of his bizarre lyrics. I mean, have you tried to figure out what the hell he was talking about in Voices? Yack.
I love those things! Got a PODxt Live and a Variax electric myself, along with a EBMM JP6 which I play more live than in studio... The Line 6 gear is a great setup though, so damn versatile. My only gripe is that the lack of proper gain makes it nearly impossible to play tap without breaking your fingers...:(
Check out Dream Theater. Prog Metal that isn't embarassing... If you're into Tool and heavier stuff in general check out Train of Thought first. Feel free to shoot me an email if you want a streaming link.:)
On topic, I was surprised when I put them into Pandora, it threw out a few bands that didn't fit with their style at all. That was about a month ago and I haven't tried it since then, and don't remember exactly what it showed me.
About Sony LCDs - I bought a 23 inch Sony LCD before this whole fiasco and I'm incredibly happy with it. The picture is perfect and the dot pitch/refresh time is great. I don't think I'll be buying any other Sony products from now on, but if I do buy a second display it will definitely be another Sony LCD of the same model. Anything else Sony makes, I won't be buying.
And NOBODY but allofmp3.com gets money from that. It doesn't support the artists at all, and as a musician I find that extremely wrong and insulting. It's also completely illegal in the USA. I don't care about loopholes in Russian copyright law, that doesn't make it legal elsewhere.

I'm aware of that, I was just putting it in layman's terms so the troll I was responding to could grasp what I meant. :)

I've got a 17 inch PB, has one PC card slot on the left. The only PB that doesn't have it is the 12 inch.
Not a bad idea. Hey, CmdrTaco, make a slashcode tag like the one we have! :D
Whoever modded this troll needs to lighten up, it's an obvious joke...

Windows NT has never been an OS that sits on top of DOS. That was the WFW 3.11, 95, 98, and ME line which is now completely unsupported.

In this case nm stands for nautical miles. See the definition here.
No, I wouldn't, which is why I'm not upgrading it. I just found it kind of ironic. :P
Grrr! The day after we set up our new backend production server here with 5.4, they release 6.0. Go figure! :(
