  1. bugzilla for IE? on Is The Firefox Honeymoon Over? · · Score: 1

As I recall, IE does not have anything even remotely similar to bugzilla (as FF has).
So, if I find a bug in FF, I'll report it in bugzilla. If I find a bug in IE, where do I report? send an e-mail to wishes@microsoft.com?

I'm sure there are some people that know that better than me -- enlighten me. How does one submit a bug found in IE?

IMO, the less software licences, the better.

Although one can invent his own unique licence for every piece of code he writes, I don't see how it would be a smart move.

Licence your product under GPL or BSD licence (or a known commercial one), then at least I know (approximately) under what terms you have released the product.
To be honest, I really don't want to read the whole licence before installing some program just to make sure I have the right to use it.

4 or 5 licences would be enough IMO. Well, of course there are some people/companies that think the standard licences are not the way to go.

I really would like to see full VBA support in OOffice. I'm currently developing an accounting worksheet for a spreadsheed program -- one of the demands was that (obviously) it has to work in Excel.
As I'm not very fond of Microsoft's products, I fired up my OO just to find out it uses a different scripting language for macros. So here I am, locked in Windows until the end of the project.

I haven't actually sought out any information why it isn't implemented in OO but I guess VBA has MS licence on it, making sure it stays out of OSS

At the moment, I'm looking for some program to use to connect to my Nokia 3510i on my PC. I've yet to found an open sourced program that would enable me to do that. So it looks like I'll have to go for Logomanager which is Windows only.

Yesterday I wanted to play a game of online chess with someone -- that never happened, because I couldn't get the damn website to function correctly. The site requred Flash. I haven't got flash to work with Firefox, so I fired up Opera, only to find out the site wasn't loading there either. So the person I wanted to play with suggested I reboot into Windows. Too many reboots for my liking.

I have Windows installed because I couln't get Oracle database installed under Gentoo (tried the available How-to and some other tutorials), got some mystical errors.

So I used the "search" function Windows Explorer has (yes the one with the brown hairless dog at the bottom left corner of the screen). No system log was found.

I snooped around the C:\Windows a bit more with no results and asked for guidance in a IRC chatroom. It was only then that I was able to find the darn log. And to my surprise, it did not contain any data that would have been of any use to me -- it had system boot times, shutdown times, start times of some (for me) unknown programs. No detailed information.

I'd expect a bit more from a system log -- but then again maybe I was looking from the wrong place?

Anyways, glad to see Microsoft improve their OS and I hope there will be a time when Windows will have something like /var/log/everything that Gentoo machine has.

It's just that extra hardware == extra expenses. And I don't like extra expenses, I've got enough of those already.

I still think that an OS should be able to be installed out of the box without buying any hardware. But that goes for the installation part only because after the installation, there is an opportunity to install third party hardware drivers that are not actually crucial for the OS to work as it should.

Were the cache and page file maximum size limits the only changes (besides making the OS work at 64 bit)?
I hope they updated the integrated drivers list because if the installation still requires me to use floppy disk in order to use SATA drives, I'd quit the installation instantly. I don't have a floppy disk device nor do I intend to buy any extra hardware just to make an OS work on my computer.
