Wanting a VM of Vista, I've installed it on a 15gb vm then changed to the disk to a dynamic disk, compressed it, then compressed it again to a.sfx to an overall size of just over 3Gb.
Small enough to fit on a dvd-r for a portable vm of vista.
Now I have to extract it onto the host computer but it doesn't extract to over 5Gb.
As a musician myself, I don't agree with the current
practice of selling music or ideas. Which I why I freely
share what I produce under the GPL.
The RIAA and like are upset because this method, and the
direction the world of technology is going will make their
business model obsolete.

Yes, but as a consumer did you choose the Dell unit because of the low price or you liked the actual design/functionality? ...
Sometimes you do get what you pay for:)
Exactly, and expect it to function as such.
If you are rough on things like I am, go with something rugged. Otherwise, you end up looking like a dumb caveman trying to preserve a battered butterfly.

Norton used to be great. Remember those days?
I am computer consultant for small and medium
sized businesses and each time I see norton installed
I suggest my clients to use an alternative.
One client recently exclaimed "After I installed Norton,
I ended dealing with Norton this, Norton that, I just
want my computer to work."
If Norton has an issue with a third party app, perhaps
they should patch their software.
As if it wasn't hard enough to setup.... and
don't get me started on unix backslashes(/) vs windows forward slashes (\).
Precisely why you shouldn't be installing a web server. If you don't even know the name of the keys, please keep your badly configured servers off the internet.
I asked you not to get me started. Please deposit your baggage at the depot.
Now, when I mentioned editing config files for
Apache under windows you need to understand that
windows carriage returns are not the same as unix, even with notepad (not wordpad).
Since Kazaa has been found in the wrong in Australia,
and kazaalite has been found in the wrong against
kazaa,
does this mean that Australia prefers us to use Kazzalite instead?
Just wait until they start install AOL Bloatware....{America-On-Linux?}
Then we'll see a balance in the prices.

Gratis versus Libre - I just want free beer.
Are belong to us.....
Do ppl really want free music enough to sue record companies? hmmmmm. I wonder....
Who says they're joking?

An 8Gb memory stick would be even better.

This is not true.
Open it up and break it, that will void your warranty.
Install Linux on the system and don't expect support for software.
The hardware is a different story.
Dell Ubuntu support is located in Canada.

You may have to deal with a french accent, mind you
Um, Patching Ubuntu with Xp patches?
BORG!!!

Maybe it's not dark matter at all and more like reflected matter. Just how light is refracted.

Hence 'begging the question'.

Perhaps this is an updated version of MS-AV?
What happens when OneCare decides the system

Is notepad going to also be a subscription service?
Now I know when people ask if they should switch
to Vista my immediate response will have to be
'no'.... unless, of course, I don't like them.

'That he surely did not.'
With VISTA coming out, Symantec is going to
obviously be pushing its own products for that
platform.
However, to give the semblence of non-preferance
they will side with the better product for the
term being.
However, expect them to do a 360 in six months again
citing VISTA the most secure product ever, bar none.

My real question was:
How many of you installed apache under windows?

?
yes, you are right
can i blame dyslexia?
or can i blame jack daniels?
Either way, those fxing slashes
fx me up every time running unix
config scripts under windows.
How many others here have set up apache under
windows?
God what a waste of time.
I remember using the wrong text editor and
apache unable to read the config script. ARGGG....

Afterwards i found II's to be better at handling
windows crash and burn schemes, if you're running
windows, use II's and nothing else.
But if you're serious about webserving:
setup apache under *bsd or linux and go from there.
The admins in this article are a little confused.
Perhaps they should look at embedded linux for
their webserving.
