Also, we should NOT point out that it looks they've been straight biting Google's style lately. We should only give them credit. Credit damnit, credit!!!
Maybe because the hiding of file extensions on PC has led to mass propagation of virii that could have been easily avoided were the file extensions evident whereas the hiding of file extensions on Mac has had no untoward consequences at all? Just a thought(you know that thing that some people have BEFORE they start typing their comments).
You clearly know jack shit about the street culture art community. The opinion that they are all vandals is tired old 1980's bullshit, wake up man! Try picking up a hip-hop mag some time and finding out what the worlds been up to for the last 10 years you've been staring at your monitor. Do you think IBM/Sony/M$ would all throw money into this advertising scheme if there wasn't something there beyond annoying vandalism? M$ recently got a new strategy after getting fined for the graffiti in NYC by paying a guy in London to actually scrub dirty sidewalks clean w/ the XBOX 360 logo. It's all lame. It's like some geezer trying to refer to jewelry as "bling-bling" to his nephews and thinking he's hip. I suppose if people are stupid enough to fall for this type of ploy they deserve to be duped but is still raises my hackles by the dillution of the mostly anti-corporate stance of said artists.
Sure.... common sense!!! Advertising is ridiculously expensive. This probably cost them several if not tens of thousands. Who would foot the bill for that if not Sony?
There already exists a form of tracking which in both non-invasive and user controlled - I believe they are called "cookies". Anything that goes further than this (as in - eating up my CPU processes and RAM to background run your fucking spyware app on my PC w/ out my permission) would be labeled by me as unethical, devious, immoral, and downright mean.
Nice try.... but trying the same search "tartfuel" in MSN gave me 4,000 entries and they DID show all of them. So I'm unsure of your position here. It appears that you are saying that you are unhappy with the fact that when you put in this mostly unknown search criteria and Google came back w/ 30 results, 1/3 of which you realized were good, you believe there is a problem? Frankly, I'm impressed w/ how good the results were... you may consider choosing a more clear example next time - perhaps one that illustrates your point rather than refuting it.
I insist that you check out the movie "MirrorMask" while it is still in select theaters. I promise, you will thank me! This movie is a bit underground so I wouldn't expect to see it on p2p (soon) anyways, but it sounds like you don't mind paying for, in this case, GREAT film.
cheers.

I agree with you 100%. This makes me incredibly embarassed to be a part of the iPod crew. What a bunch of fucking whiny bitches! Bringing it back is one thing, selling it on ebay is one thing, taking the company to court? That is a WHOLE nother thing.
Almost: They actually said without a doubt that they are not going with HD-DVD for the 360. So only off by one word! They said "At some time in the future we MAY or MAY NOT include some add-on accessory that uses the HD-DVD standard". That's pretty ambiguous - It would have meant the same to me if they said "In the future we may or may not sell lawn mowers". See what I mean? If you use the phrase "may or may not in the future" it makes the rest of the sentence meaningless.
I think you make a somewhat reasonable point in that demand at some point will level, however I don't get the "Creative Labs + Sony have a good chance of stealing their thunder" line of thinking. Sony has some large products in the works and some great ones available and works closely w/ Apple. I would no sooner assume Sony would try to replace iPod than assume Apple would try to replace PSP. Of course Sony sells mp3 players and will continue. For them to suddenly change their R&D budget drastically towards this teeny part of their overall product plan in an effort to squeeze out Apple would be a sad waste of time and money. I care not to even discuss Creative Labs inability to come close to iPod further than to say - with them having started producing mp3 players a few YEARS before iPod came out (IIRC), if they could have caught up they would have by now!
I'm assuming you are just trolling... but that is just asinine! You think users should be treated like idiots and delivered bloatware if they don't know how to untar a file? Are you out of your fucking tree? That has exactly jack shit w/ an average users ability to check email which last I checked is what Hotmail does. I think a user could happily check their email day in and day out without knowing what a binary is. Next time you start spouting off and using the word moronic, please make sure first that it doesn't accurately describe the content of your post.
VERY well put. I agree that this is a different case entirely this time around. The "Linux arguement" will always be just that, but this certainly makes it soooo much more compelling, although I would like to add that most new Linux distros need XP-like hardware requirements to run smoothly. I think many still believe that Linux will run on any POS junker PC and set themselves up for disappointment... it is a full OS, not just a novelty app after all.
Agreed, agreed, agreed! Especially if (and I DON'T condone this) you have a 1.5 firmware and have the luxury of playing EVERY single game for free!
The descriptions of the interactive menus sound great anybody got some footage?
Also, we should NOT point out that it looks they've been straight biting Google's style lately. We should only give them credit. Credit damnit, credit!!!
Mario is played out, but a tip to duck hunt would be AWESOME! Like the exact same play only w/ the best visuals that the Rev can handle.

OK.. what's the new slang for us too lazy to type that corporations full moniker?

DANG! Even I'd get one if that was the case. I personally would take kb/mouse over xbox controller any day for FPS. Good question!
I'm not l33t enough to care.
Guess you missed TA yesterday about 3ms response time LCD screens. 12ms looks good to me @ home w/ HL2.

heh...heh... Sorry about that! I forgot that /. doesn't recognize that I hit the enter key like every other posting site I've ever been to.

Take every comment on Slashdot literally? You must be new here...
Who here seriously doesn't think that anybody stupid enough to fall for the Nigerian bank scam doesn't deserve to lose their cash?

"HD-DVD is pretty clear that it's a High Density DVD" Hmmmm... So is it also pretty clear that a HDTV is a High Density TV?
