I just checked google, and the phrase litigious bastards does not bring up sco in the first 15 or so pages of results. Do you think that google, anticipating a lawsuit has intervened so as to not provoke sco?
I have the fist edition of this book. It has help me considerably, but it seemed as though I always had to use google to supplement it with code/examples. I guess I wanted to see more real world work in the book rather than what seemed to me to be generic theory explained via simplistic samples.
I clicked on the url attached to your name as was subjected to an onslaught of popups(one even brought up a save file prompt). At least they did stop eventualy. Still pretty greasy.
You sure you didn't just get a girlfriend who makes you watch the decorating shows? As far as i've read lately, tv execs are going after our lucrative young male audience.
journalists will understand "violent" video games a bit more. They are dealing with a mature demographic. Or, at least we know that companies trying to make a buck will continue to do so even with the protests.
Did you not see that sun 3d java desktop demo that was posted here a while back? It was used in a cool, meaningful way. The windows flipped around so that you could write notes or attach other files to particular instances of a browser or application.
I agree that most of the 3d implementations floating around lack a bit of practicality, but just because it has sucked in the past doesnt mean that it is doomed to suck. We just need a few people with some inovative ideas to make it work.
I personaly believe that it will mostly be used for asthetics and not functionality, but you never know. I also think voice activation will be better realized way before an emersive 3d folder browser becomes usefull.
Ive wondered a few times why no one has attempted to port the quake engine to a window manager.
Don't the studios have a vested interest in lenghtening the life span of a console? Add potential features strategicly so as to have some "wow" left over. The Madden series of games gets better looking every year on the same hardware. sort of like forward expectation control and management.
Subject line has a character limit...hmph. Add an E for me.
Ive heard that it could be some sort of interactive visualboy type remake. The only links I could provide to back that up are slashdot posts joking about a beowolf cluster of them. sorry.
Also, did anyone else find it interesting that the gentleman talks about the decline of the gaming industry? Seems as though sony is doing ok. kinda like an interal perspective published as a global fact.
Does anyone else here think that it may not be the best idea to publicly (on Slashdot and Groklaw at least) counter claims made against something that seems bound for court? Doesn't this just give your opponent a head start on how to properly accuse you to get their desired results? I am not looking for security through obscurity, but given the veracity of the claimants, wouldn't some caution be in order?

XIII is done totaly with cell shading. Looks and plays like a comic book. The demo at least.
I disagree. There are very few jobs in the world that dont rely on computers and as such demand at least a farmilliarity with them. To not give children/students an early education in computing in general, even if it is on an outdated system, is to disprepare them for the future. How many older people have you seen struggle with a remote controll for a T.V.??....and how many young people?? Everything from a playstation to a microwave to a car is a computer these days. There have to be courses and materials to compensate for that in all schools.
I just saw revolutions today, i thought it was pretty good....i mean, it is only a movie...matinee price was 5 dollars..i bet this guy charges more than that to see one of his robots shove a horn up his ass.:)
I don't know about anyone else, but i just got a sonny/ericsson t610, and the bluetooth is the best part. i went and got a 40 dollar usb bluetooth adapter, and was real pleased with what i could do. remote internet access...no silly cables to deal with. In fact, the other day i realized how close some of this stuff is to sci-fi communicators.. press a button next to your ear, say a name, talk. the phone i got comes witha camera...i can take a picture, transfer it to the computer, edit it, the bring it back..all in about a minute( depending on whose head im trying to put on whose body ). I dont actualy see, even after reading most of these posts, what ppls problem is whith it. its like hateing a parralell port...wtf?
I like the dvd functionality. I like GTA, EA Sports(fifa in particular), and easy network ability. PS2's got that. GC falls short imo.
Not that i dislike nintento, or the gamecube, but i wasn't about to switch when i had a ps2.
Anyway, my whole point was to reply to the question asking why they should lower the price. I think that there are a great deal of people like me who have lost their ps2 for one reason or another and would like one back....but dont want to pay 300 dollars for a replacement.
sorry, got lazy w/ capitalization there at the end. No grammar stamina:)
I lost my PS2 to theft about 4 months ago. I have wanted to replace it, but i dont want to spend the 300 it would take to do so. The console is 180, but an extra controller, mem card, game.. gets to almost 300 pretty easily. I am just waiting for the price drop to re-buy. I wont buy a gamecube, but if the xbox were 99 dollars, i would scoop it up too.
Being a New Orleans man, I would like to see the teams stats updated when they are kicking ass in the first part of the season so at least i get some good feelings before they roll over and die around week 9.:)

Maybe its just me though.

Not many trailer parks in Slidell. It's more likely that she's hold up in a fishing camp.

Man, it's getting so you cant kill anyone anymore...
I'm with you. I usualy get all of the posts to some degree, but I'd have to spend too much time at dictionary.com to figure this one out.

Like they said, its a real sloooooooooooooooow attack.
We have a rule here in the New Orleans music scene. Numbers in your name = Bad. They all wind up sounding like an OTC drug name.
Why is it that gamespot always seems to have rampant broken image problems?
:).
This is off topic.
This is the first post
I knew you could.

If you're into architecture, you probably should not miss Frank Lloyd Wright's Falling Water.
