I'm not sure it is. Maybe I'm biased because I am employed as an Android developer, but both Android and iOS developers are both incredibly in demand right now.
Every brand wants or has an app, and every webapp needs a native mobile counterpart to be taken seriously. Weren't the app bubble predictions back in 2010? I don't think they hold any water any more. Mobile is the future and isn't going anywhere.
Real time regional interactions as well as the global economy is also run through the server. If it was really just the nominal amount of work of syncing saved games, I would really worry about EA's server programming. At the moment, I only slightly worry about it.
I played for the couple of hours I could, last night. Even if you control all the cities in a region yourself, there is still a global market that is being interacted with. When the server was having connection problems (but would still let you play), the oil that I was exporting would no longer export and sit in the stockpile until I was alerted it was full. This was affecting my overall economy, because as an oil town, a lot of my economy was dependent on that global export. The market prices are determined by overall supply/demand on the particular server you're connected to (each server being a sim globe as it were). As others have pointed out, this is of course something that didn't have to be multiplayer, but does add an additional interesting variable to the game. Here's a screenshot of the market graph.
Only happened because the music industry absolutely refused to sell DRM-free music for a decade. No one wanted to buy music that could go obsolete when the store went away.
According to the process flow diagram, it's just compressed CO2 and water as the output. I assume the CO2 would be bottled and used for the various uses it is currently for.
I think that would be for most number of devices, not necessarily lines of code written (or even # projects).
Most code written today is not for embedded systems.
AliasMarlowe didn't claim that the phone or tablet wasn't a computer. The claim was that it wasn't a PC. A personal computer is a subset of the larger group of 'computers'.
It's ironic — when Bill Gates agreed to port Office to the Mac nearly 20 years ago, it was seen as a lifeline for the beleaguered manufacturer. Now, Microsoft is knocking on the door of Apple's business and Cupertino seems disinclined to answer.
This conclusion absolutely does not follow from the sentence that came before it.
the biggest problem with this is when your algorithm won't fit the password requirements of one particular site. then you have to memorize that this one site has a specific password requirement which requires a different password than the algorithm normally generates, and often these sites don't advertise their password requirements when you login so you end up locking your account after too many password attempts.
They would have to go to SDV. It would be the only way. It would definitely be feasible, but might limit the number of different channels any one house could have on at the same time.
The non-DRM (non-steamworks) games do not require Steam to be running, otherwise that would be using the DRM.... You were probably trying to run one that did have DRM.
Steam is a delivery platform with optional DRM. No game is required to use the DRM, and many indie games and older games do not. Once you purchase those games, you can move them wherever you wish and even delete Steam and still have usable games.
I'm pretty sure the GP was talking about Michael Hunt the 12 time national champion roller hockey player. He's championed one of the greatest sports for so long, that he needed a new challenge. Mars.
The only time the TSA allows you to go through the metal detector now is if you have children. If you went with just your spouse, or just by yourself, and attempted to opt out, you would get a pat down.
Not the same AC here, but I'm pretty sure that post meant that if you are storing music / video directly on the phone, you are not storing it on the sd card, because they are distinctly different items.

the casino only loses it's reputation in this situation. the monetary losers are the ones sitting across from him on the poker table.

That's a very costly solution. Especially for those of us that aren't Michael Arrington.

Facebook made $1 billion in profit last year, so I'm not sure how your argument holds water.

I hope you get rewarded with a portion of whatever they get fined for your troubles for being ethically sound.
