No, but if we all vote for him in the poll, he gets put on the "no fly list" as a possible terrorist, so it'll be a bitch for him to get through airport security,...;-)
Plans for partnering with 3D Realms to assist in programming Jar Jar Binks as the head "bad guy" to kill at the end of Duke Nukem Forever have been put on hold. Oh darn! =)
As for the race issue I think many whites do not think of Obama as being a black man. Culturally he seems to be white and his skin is not dark. The prejudice against women may well be greater than racial prejudice towards Obama.
Well, there's also that little detail about his mother being white herself,...;-)
Nah! In 150 years, all citizens will be required to be implanted with the equivalent of the
V-chip" directly into their brains. It will basically prevent any type of "illegal" behavior, as well as control the masses into voting for more candidates like Dubya and Hillary,...
Anyone caught using Excel for real science, other than real quick and dirty stuff, ought to have their geek card revoked immediately. Lately, I've found that xmgrace and gnuplot are great plotting programs for linux, and freeware!
I'm currently working in the computational biology department at the school across the street from CMU,... A lot of people don't think of "programming" and "biology" in the same sentence, and most biology programs are the last science programs that would even think of requiring programming as a prerequisite for graduation. However, once you get into the more specific structural and molecular biology fields, you almost can't escape programming. Almost on a daily basis, I use perl. Most of our software is probably coded in C or C++, and some of the older software is coded in Fortran, though that's not as common anymore. Some people in our department have been doing some stuff with Python, too, though I personally haven't. There's also quite a few genomic and database applications where SQL will come in handy for the database work, and an increasing amount of computational biology projects are coming online with web interfaces, so PHP could be useful.
I've always thought that describing Democrats as "liberals" is just a Republican scare tactic. The same thing can be said of describing Republicans as "neocons" or "conservatives". The vast majority of Americans, including at least half of the "members" of each party, don't fall quite as neatly into these categories. There's simply too many issues and too many opinions on these issues, for them to fit neatly into the platform of two parties. The solution is not to vote for the candidate with the little "R" or "D" (or "L" or "G", for that matter;-) beside their name, but to actually ***gasp*** educate yourself on the candidates and how they stand on the issues themselves, and cast your vote accordingly for the person that you feel is most qualified.
A beer distributor for primarily Anheiser-Busch products. That should answer most slashdotter's questions about the quality of the project,... Although, on the bright side they do have a few products in their inventory that aren't bad, like Rolling Rock and a couple of non-AB stouts and pale ales.;-)
Speaking of Al Qaeda, why can't we just strap Osama bin Laden into one of our old Saturn V rockets and blast his ass to the moon,. . . and leave him there. That would solve two problems right there!
Yes, I think your dog could apply for a job. After all, the American electorate didn't discriminate against someone with the same genetic makeup as a chimpanzee when electing Bush, so what's the difference?;-)
First, they killed Napster. So we moved to Limewire. Then we moved to Kazaa. Then, after a bunch of **AA lawsuits, we moved to bittorrent. Now, what in God's name makes them think that we won't move someplace else? They're never going to kill filesharing. What the fracking industry has to do is come up with content that has value and that we actually want to pay for. Piracy will never go away; it's been around in one way, shape, or form since the age of exploration. But, if content is good enough, the majority of people WILL spend money on it. The problem with radio, television, movies, and music today is that they've been feeding us crap since the early 90s, and no one but a select handful of zombies and drones wants to throw their good, hard-earned money at it.
I think I would rather gouge my eyeballs out with a spoon and feed them to a pack of wild dogs rather than being a product support specialist for Windows Vista,...

Actually, I would think that McCain's probably high on the stuff already! ;-)
Are these guys any of your relatives, perchance? ;-)
I think we have a better chance of seeing pigs take to the skies, but that would be hillaryous!
Well, there's also that little detail about his mother being white herself,... ;-)
Oh, please! If I see Weatherbug on one more PC, I think I'm gonna go postal,... ;-)
The real real real question is, when will Google really start supporting linux? ;-)
Also, Jeff Probst was seen recently booking his travel to Brazil to check the place out for another Survivor Amazon series!

I watch TV ***on*** the internet, you insensitive clod!

Umm,... that's been done before. ;-)

So, here's the plan:
1. Set up new test website for popular web forum.
2. Announce it as a test.
3. Encourage others to slashdot slashdot.
4. ???
5. Profit!

Never mattered to Bush in the first place, so what's the problem?
If only the same concept was applied to domain names,... we wouldn't have 10 billion domain names pointing to some useless linkfarm site.
