I don't really see what the problem is here, either. His earlier comments about, "crushing your enemies; seeing them driven before you; and hearing the lamentations of the women," didn't seem to hurt him to bad,...;-)
That is actually NOT true. Here is information on credit inquiries affecting your credit score, from a FAQ on Experian's website:
Q: Do inquiries affect a credit score?
A: Inquiries placed on your credit report when you apply for new credit can impact your credit score. However, inquiries have a relatively small impact on your credit score. In a credit scoring model, there are stronger indicators of future payment performance, such as past payment history and use of credit. Inquiries are rarely, if ever, the only reason for poor credit scores. They only become significant if there are other issues already lowering your score, such as late payments or very high debt.
Q: Does every inquiry affect a credit score?
A: Anytime your credit report is pulled - including when you order a copy of your credit report directly from the credit reporting agency - an inquiry is added to your report. Only some of those inquiries appear to creditors and therefore impact your credit score. Inquiries that were made for credit cards or loans for which you applied will be shown to creditors and are counted in a credit score. Inquiries added when you request a copy of your credit report or when an employer checks your credit report do not appear to creditors. We are pulling your credit report on your behalf, so the inquiry on your credit report will not be shown to creditors and will not affect your credit score.
When you request your credit report directly from Experian, it shows you ALL inquiries. This is done so you know who has been looking at your credit. Some inquiries on your report are accompanied by a description of why the report was pulled.
Actually, I think the largest free Wi-Fi network in North America is LinkSys,. . . not sure of what the total coverage is, and it's certainly not contiguous,. . . but in terms of total land area, I'm sure it's one of the top free wi-fi providers!:-)
Can't be too expensive to ship to a Pacific Island. We already ship tons of stuff daily to from (oops!) China, so just load the stuff onto empty planes heading back and drop them off halfway across the ocean!
Uh,... did I see that correctly? A slashdot post that actually mentioned the words, "MySpace," and, "value," in the same post?!?!

What Mozilla really ought to do is team up with some of these social networking sites like MySpace. Design some Firefox Extensions that work directly with creating MySpace pages and updating MySpace blog entries and such, then market it as the, "user interface," for editing MySpace. That way, you'll get 65 million teeny boppers download the software and using it was their primary web browser over IE,...
And in the meantime, you'd solve the other problem of getting MySpace pages to be more, "HTML compliant,..." (well, hopefully;-)
Actually, M$ is accepting these as their preferred forms of payment:
Windows Vista Ultimate - first born
Windows Vista Business - leg + arm
Windows Vista Home Premium - arm
Windows Vista Home Basic - leg
Windows Vista Ultimate Upgrade - arm
Windows Vista Business Upgrade - leg
Windows Vista Home Premium Upgrade - two fingers
Windows Vista Home Basic Upgrade - two toes/there. that sounds much more accurate!;-)
Adam & Jamie on the Discovery Channel's MythBusters just had a show last night where they showed all sorts of ways to defeat some of the newer, high tech devices. Fingerprint scanners were pretty much busted, including one really high tech fingerprint scanner that the company said had never been broken into, EVER,. . . which Adam & Jamie broke into within about 10 minutes using three different techniques! They also found ways around heat sensors (a piece of glass), sonic motion detectors (a bedsheet, or walking really slowly), and breaking into a safe with an underwater explosion,...
Quite an interesting episode,...
As evidenced by Sept. 11's Flight 93, cell phones work perfectly well at high altitudes.
Not really true. Flight 93 was hijacked and flying at a significantly lower altitude by the terrorists, which allowed many of the passengers to use their cell phones to call for help, call family, whomever,...
/though ironically, I use my cell phone at 7,000 ft all the time! It does help to have the cell towers at 7,000 ft, too (Flagstaff, Arizona),...;-)
These are the brilliant geniuses that brought us the completely useless domains of.aero,.museum, and.coop, not to mention the spam-haven of.biz! I wonder what sort of cr*p they can bring out in the next five years?;-)
Let's add a link to his blog to the front page of slashdot,. . .
. . . just to insure that the site's bandwidth shoots through the roof and the server comes crumbling down in a smoldering blaze of molten silicon!;-)
Might as well throw the entire myspace.com domain into that list as well,... There's certainly nothing actually productive there,... and it might even give google a new category, as in, "unsafe for users' sanity."
Contrary to popular belief, the Microsoft Way isn't necessarily the only way to do things, and often not really the correct way, either,...
This is really great news! I can't wait for my preciousssss -- oops, I mean -- this new book to come out! ;-)
In other words, Kirk will still be fat and bald,...
Imagine what a beowulf cluster of these things could do!

Seriously, how many slashdotters actually buy porn these days? ;-)
All slashdotters that actually intend on upgrading ANY computer to Windows Vista please,. . . STAND ON YOUR HEAD!!!!

I don't know about that. I've seen some videos on YouTube with worse voice-overs done by someone with far less talent than Bob Saget himself,...
is that God decided it was time to smite Pat Robertson, but unfortunately missed by about 800 miles,... ;-)

I'm almost 26 and I'm picking boogers right now while reading these comments. (I'm serious) in my parent's basement.
There. Fixed it for you! :-)
