all of this raises an interesting question. Is the NSA currently tapping / sniffing the Interenet for voice? That is, tapping / sniffing VOIP?
And if not, will this hasten the day when NASA does so? I can hear it now. "All of these people are now connected end to end via WIFI and VOIP through their cell phones. We must be able to tap / sniff those conversations.
"The evidence that we are filing supports our claim that AT&T is diverting Internet traffic into the hands of the NSA wholesale, in violation of federal wiretapping laws and the Fourth Amendment," said EFF Staff Attorney Kevin Bankston.
Rhipf hit the nail on the head. The only problem here is that *AA's are not actually breaking into anyones house. They are just twisting the arm of your ISP and asking them for information that the ISP already collects on you. Neither the *AA's or your ISP are breaking any current law, though they are breaking your trust. So anything they get in this manner can be used in a civil case against you, but you have no means of having them arrested.
A law needs to be put in place to prevent a persons ISP from giving this information to anyone except a law enforcement office with a warrent. To get that to happen though someone needs to convince more members of congress than the *AA's can afford to convince. I don't see such a law passing with our current greedy officials, do you?
You are forgetting that illegal search, probable cause and the other keywords you are flinging around only apply to the US government. The RIAA is not bound by such constructs. In fact the current system actually supports them doing many things the police would never consider to gain your information.
My wife saw that video, turned to me and said, "we're getting this game, right?"
I'll give her this, when I told her it would cost us somewhere in the region of $2000 she actually had to consider it for a full second and a half before she said ok.
So, I'll get a new computer, but I won't be able to use it for six months, and I won't actually see my wife for that time either... Thanks Will Wright.
So if I get this game I get a new computer and I don't have to see my wife for 6 months? If I hadn't already been following this game for a year I would be waiting for release now!
FYI, Daemon tools 4 (4.03 is latest version) beats starforce. There is still IDE vs SCSI blacklist, so you will have to unplug optical drives from your PC.
Try this out: Right click My Computer > Properties (alternativly hit [windows] + [break]) > Hardware > Device Manager > DVD/CD-ROM drives > Right click your IDE CD/DVD drive > Disable
When your done playing repeat the same except click Enable. No opening your box needed. Hell my 7 year old already knows how to do this. (He has a habit of leaving his cds down where his younger brothers can scratch them so I lock them up and he has to use an image to play.)
I thought that the current groupthink was "EA bad". It is, but the groupthink of "Will Wright is awsome" is a stronger emotion. The fact that Spore is from WW is enough for us to mentally blank the fact that EA has its fingers in the pie.
Cop1: Hey Johnson, if these things can look under cars then what else can they look under? Cop2: I don't know, what... Oh you're awful! Upskirts again Bob? Cop1: Upskirts in 3D!
Well it varies greatly depending on the situation and what state you live in. If you are drunk and creating a big scene in a public place you can be arrested for 'Drunk in Public', which is a sort of catch all which can also be used to get bums off the street and such. Then if your driving it is based off of a specific blood alcohol level, which varies by state. Also if a minor is caught drunk it has to be proven with a blood alcohol test, but the levels are very low. So really "legally drunk" is just a catch all phrase without a set scientific answer.
Did it really take a team of scientists to figure this out?
Scientist: Hey Bob I have an idea for a research proposal, but I'm going to need a big grant. Boss: What's your idea? Scientist: Well I want to study the effects of waking up. Boss: Is this just an excuse for why you are always sleeping at your desk? Scientist: *Looks guilty* N..No! I want to compare the effects to um.. Drunk Driving! Yeah I want to compare the effects of waking up to Drunk Driving thats it!
Here in VA that box of cherrios would be taxed both federal and state sales tax. That sandwich would recieve federal, state and prepared food sales taxes. When I lived in TX, MD and GA (along with traveling through many other states) I know I was taxed on my cherrios, but I never bothered checking if my double cheesburgers got a higher tax. Maybe I should reconsider that move to FL. Aren't you guys income tax free too?
I work in a government office. "Firefox has not been proven secure and is not authorized." WTF?! Then why is IE on here?! Then again that doesn't mean I'm not using Firefox.;) My coworkers though all fight over the few machines that it magically appeared on despite the admins best efforts. I have to say though that I have noscript and adblock installed and I still get 9 pages.
Hate to break it to you but in most states food and basic nessesities are not taxed. As a poor person myself I pay very little sales tax.
What states are you talking about? I've traveled alot and I have always paid taxes on food. And I'm not talking fast food or microwave meals that are not necessities. When was the last time you were not taxed on milk or baby formula? Even when my wife was on WIC the taxes were rung up and charged to the state (silly I know).
You seem to be saying that it isn't as good a story simply because Ender's Game exists. I say it is a great story despite the fact that Ender's Game exists. Shadow is perfectly capable of standing on its own. It is made even better by the fact that it has given us this wonderful new perspective, along with filling a few gaps, on a story that we already knew and loved.
True, but thats basically what the NSA says in their 143-page document from 2003 (which misses, oh, ALL of the patches to XP, for example)... Maybe they released this information as a conspiracy to the UN wanting international control of the Internet. If the NSA's involved, I'd honestly like to know why they take interest at this point in time as opposed to when the zombie machines became a serious and costly area of the internet.
I just thought I should point out that page has been around for several years. No news here. Just few outside the government bother going there. I have seen it linked on/. several times before however. Didn't it seem odd that you mentioned it was from 2003 yet your complaining that they didn't put it out earlier than now? Sorry to ruin your conspiracy theory. Don't worry though plenty of real conspiracies do exist out there for you to find.
This failure to apply genuine fiscal pressures upon microsoft, especially considering the cost to government of the continued overseeing of the monopolistic machinations of bog balls and wee willie, is very strange to say the least;-).
What are you talking about? Microsoft is paying enough to the government to cover those costs... Oh wait you meant the government itself and not the government officials.
Have you seen this Mario dude? He kills these little mushrooms and turtles by smashing them with punches, kicks, and landing on their heads. He hits stuff with hammers and burns his enemies with the fireballs he throws. The game is also racist. ALL Goombas are evil, ALL koopas are evil, and ALL of bowsers children are automatically evil. What happened to judging people on the content of their character?
Is this the kind of game you would want your 12 year old playing? Are we going to let some punk kid deal this to our children from orders handed down from an evil corporation called "EBGames", it's true intentions hidden behind a veil of technical legality?
WTF?! I've been letting my kids play that game! Why didn't anyone warn me? Why was it legal for the stores to sell that game to my kids? Why wasn't this game banned? Where was Jack Thompson when you needed him?!
It's about time the government stepped in to do my job as a parent!/sarcasm>

For some reason I read that as a large goat.cx on the surface.
Oh and I should mention that this is a dupe.
According to the EFF:
So yes, that would include VOIP.

The most you will see on a raid is 12-18 people. The longest quests take slightly over an hour.

No your forgeting Quirk's exception to Godwin:
Intentional invocation of this so-called "Nazi Clause" is ineffectual.

So someone has finally found a practical use for IP over Avian Carriers?
We do unless our opponents stop following it first.
