No if you spend any time on the DDO forums you will quickly see that while it is action driven it is more of an RPG than any other MMO out to date. They have a few annoying changes to the rules but from everything my friends in alpha are saying it is the closest thing to Pen and Paper to date.
Whenever one of these riders comes up that episode is exactly what comes to mind. Thanks for the link. This is the biggest thing wrong with the system as I see it.
Because it's a VPN client you use to securely connect to the internet using a Google WiFi spot, so you can't get sniffed. It knows if you aren't connected via a Google WiFi link, and won't work otherwise.
From TFA:
Will Google Secure Access work at other locations?
While Google Secure Access should work, we have not tested it at other locations.
It can be used with or without a Google WiFi hotspot. Why would Google only allow you to use it on their hotspot anyways?
While I didn't see a state that the incident in the website occured in I can tell you that it is legal in TX and VA. I'm not sure the details on TX, but after an accident my wife had I was told by a lawyer that it was legal. VA is a "no fault state" and thus even if someone runs a red at 100MPH each person is equal in blame in the eyes of the law. StateFarm can and will raise your bill if you get in an accident in either of these states. They are still the cheapest and best company I have personally been covered under and still use them though.
Starter Edition will allow only three applications (and/or three windows) to run simultaneously
So you've got your firewall, AV and anti-spyware. You didn't actually want to run any other apps did you? Oops I guess you'll have to pay MS to upgrade then. Oh wait I forgot about Messanger and the other programs that run by default. I guess if you want to have control of your computer you better upgrade so you can install that firewall!
Actually there have seen several articles about how hacking two bytes on the XP Home CD will give you most of the features of XP Pro. This is what he was refering to.
That is a very good idea. Unfortunatly his manager will just reply, "Well your log shows that the patching of IE is more of an interuption to our users and more time intensive. If we use Firefox and you say you can't remove IE completly then I still have to patch IE plus Firefox. You showed me Firefox alone is better, but when I have to patch both it becomes more work. Get that Firefox crap off my system and stick with IE." Simply showing the time difference doesn't show the whole picture to his manager. You have to actually make him understand everything before he will realize FF is better.
I knew you would avoid the question unless it fit precisely into your propaganda. I don't ask about Kerry because I'm looking for someone else to blame. He alone NOW could not have made a difference. You however are attacking anyone who voted for Bush without considering where New Orleans would have been if Kerry had been in office in his place. For all we know Kerry could have made the same choices had he been in office. So I suggested looking at how he voted on the bill in question to as a reflection of how he would have behaved had he been in the position of the president. You can't attack anyone who voted for Bush if the only other choice would have left things in the same or worse condition.
I agree Bush hasn't done the best job with the country. But things could have been much worse. Not every single thing that happens in this country is a direct result of the current president as you seem to think. Many things could have been done at the state and local level that were not and Bush cannot be blamed for that.
You attack Bush for not doing enough to fight terrorism, but then turn around and attack him for creating the DHS. Your remarks with StupidKats proves you make up facts out of the air and then flat out lie when cornered. How can you claim that everyone of those millions who didn't vote hated Bush? If they didn't want Bush they could have voted for Kerry. They were just to freaking lazy and it is their own fault who they got. You are nothing but an anti-Bush troll and every time someone points out the errors in your logic you reply with flames not facts. If you really want Bush removed then you should go about finding a way to get it legally done rather than sit here making an ass of yourself on/. If you think you are somehow creating some popular movement you need to think again. Your simply making yourself a laughing stock.
You want some real facts? The Commander of the Army corps of Engineers stated that the bill pulling money from the levees would not have made a difference. The work that was planned under that money would not have been started yet. And the mayor did leave hundreds of school buses empty in a city parking lot that could have been used to evacuate those too poor to do so on their own.
Just for the sake of argument here, what did Kerry vote on the particular bill that cut funding to the levees? Mind you I don't know myself I'm just trying to put things into perspective. If Kerry voted against this bill it gives you a leg up in your ranting. If he voted for it you just lost any thread of credibility. So please inform us if Kerry had won instead of Bush where would New Orleans be now? I can't find the information in a quick search, but since you seem to be an expert on the subject...
I make you sick? At least I had the balls to not post AC. People can judge me and choose to mod me or put me on their foe list if they want. You though who knew you were wrong hid behind your AC tag. You are just pathetic and everyone will see through your tripe.
I said that those in a situation like your friend did deserve pity. However I believe they represent a very small percentage of those who remain. It is those who remained to protect their insured belongings and their nice middle and upper class toys from looters I have contempt for. These things can be replaced and they are not worth risking your life over. The people who stay to protect physical property and then complain that they need our nation to spend thousands of dollars each rescueing them are the ones who deserve a special place in hell.
Others like the hospital workers and other emergency personel who risked their lives by staying behind should be put on TV as heroes. They should be honored. But no, the only ones who will make the news are the people who do not deserve it. That is what makes me sick!
But they do have the choice of listening to the mandatory evacuation. Many people stayed to "protect" their belongings. Now that their belongings are destroyed they think they deserve rescue. These people put their personal possessions above their own well being and now want us to care about them.
I know well that some people were too poor to get transportation out of town and I have pity for them. Most of the people I saw one the news however had at least middle class clothes and for them they deserved what they got. They don't call it mandatory because you can just stick around and then demand help afterwards.
I have been through hurricanes several times before. Once I had no power or easily accessible clean water for weeks upon my return. I had an infant at the time. It's not fun. It's a horrible thing to go through. No one cared about whether my kids were eating though. I got fired for evacuating instead of reporting to my job that stayed open until the last possible minute. But I didn't blame others for what happened I went around town checking on friends and neighbors with less money and in worse shape than I was.
Yes, most people do have a choice in where they live. Those under the poverty line are a minority. If the 30-40 thousand people still in New Orleans are all too poor to leave then that shows a serious problem with the city itself that needs to be fixed. I seriously doubt if more than a small percentage of those really had no choice but to stay. As such they need to do what they can to help their community not loot, riot and blame everyone else. In this type of situation you see the types of people a comunity is really made of.
Who said anything with doing away with paper or other formats. My library already has VHS and DVD movies. You don't see them throwing away Shakespeare when the movie comes out. They have the unabridged books on cassette and CD, but for some reason they still keep the paper versions around too. But your right, now that its available for download, "Burn the books!". We are talking about adding formats in addition to the existing ones not taking them away. Get your head out of your ass!
ChronoTrigger had to be one of the greatest games ever. Talk about replayability. I went through almost all the different endings and was still craving more. If only modern games were that good.
I got a new ASUS motherboard last month. One of the first things I did when I got the operating system and drivers running was fiddle around with the settings and see what was going on. Right there in the motherboard software settings was an overclocking tool. First thing I noticed was that it was set 2MHZ over. Thats odd I figured, but I set it back and forgot about it. A week later when I started having problems I rebuilt the box from scratch and it was right back at 2MHz over again.
Personally I think it was the fault of a certain Redmond based OS that I only purchased for gaming reasons. It lost half my drivers and I was unable to view the system settings or reinstall any drivers. I would be a fool to think it was the bus that made the system unstable though. That is too small a jump to make a difference. This 2MHz wasn't even enough for me to give a second thought to, but here it is as a slashdot story.
So let's say that Microsoft tests Windows Vista in this way.
What information do they learn? Remember - the bad guys don't have access to Windows Vista, so they can't know about exploits in the new code in Windows Vista.
It's a chicken and egg problem - the bad guys can't know about 0day Windows Vista exploits because they don't have access to Windows Vista to exploit it.
If they find exploits in Windows Vista, it's because they're also in XP. If they're in XP, they can simply test with XP.
A honeymonkey does absolutely no good BEFORE the OS is released.
Do you really think no hackers are in on the beta testing? Can you really be that naive? All you need to get a beta copy is an MSDN license which is only $699. This may be out of reach of many script kiddies, but is easily obtainable by those hackers able to do actual vulnerability research and reverse engineering. The hackers, if they are smart, won't put the vulnerabilites up on the web before the OS goes mainstream though. The point is though that MS is, or at least should be, more than capable of checking their own source code and letting their partners and beta testers do so as well. If a bunch of hackers can find all these problems why can't MS with their billions? Answer spending money on reviewing source would cut into profit and it's easier and cheaper to patch later once someone else finds the problem.
I was given a copy a few months ago and after reading half of it I threw it away. I had to ask myself, "Did I really used to like such crap?" I'm glad to see that it isn't just my childhood memories getting the best of me.
That is why Rockstar loves Thompson. They know they can always count on him for advertising. As it is I'm sure that Rockstar left the Hot Coffee code in for just this reason. I wouldn't be surprised if he was on Rockstars payroll and some of his lawsuits and his public denouncments are just staged.
I hate when these time travelers never give the date they originally came from. If they did we could prepare for the time when Microsoft finally puts out a better product than Open Source does.
Apparently you have never spilled coffee of the temperature being discussed here on your lap. You would be amazed at the what you (or even an elderly woman) can do while in pain in under three seconds. Most of the liquid will pool under you and not directly on you. In three seconds you could easily remove the belt and get out of the liquid or simply arch your butt up removing it from the puddle. You may have small amounts still on your lap and clothing, but most can be brushed off wit a wipe of the hand that is too quick to leave a mark.
The remaining liquid that actually soaks into the clothes will gain enough surface area and be widely dispersed enough to not cause more than a first degree burn. The liquid below her would soak into the seat and cool quickly enough to be harmless in short order thanks to the increased surface area as well. The car was already stopped and she was not driving so none of these actions or jumping from the car would have been detrimental to her health. I have been in this situation several times and I can attest this is all possible in three seconds without serious injury.
This was either willful indifference on her part to setup a frivolous lawsuit or her skin was extremely sensitive which does not meet the "average person" criteria needed for a liability suit of this type. Not to mention that as the judge decided it was partially her fault for spilling the coffee in the first place. This really was an overblown case that went way to far due to the media coverage.
Well considering many people brew their coffee with boiling water (212F) and McDonalds did not make her spill the coffee on herself I do think it was rather ridiculous. Who sits with hot coffee on their lap anyways? I know I have spilled freshly brewed coffee that was recently boiling and I never sat their and said, "ouch that burns", for three seconds. I jumped up and shoke it off with no more than a red mark that went away by the end of the day. For her to get burns as bad as she recieved she had to wilfully sit there. Sounds to me like the people who intentionally step infront of a moving car for profit.

I have to agree. The OP really ruined the effect with his followup post.
