  1. Late Breaking News: on Mars Rover Spirit Down a Wheel · · Score: 4, Funny

A sense of triumph swept our fair red world today when reports came in that the Grand Army of the Council had damaged one of the robotic invaders from the evil blue planet. K'Breel, speaker for the Council of Elders, made the following comment:

This was a great victory in our war with the evil blue planet. While we have only impaired the horrid machine's movement, we will continue to strike until it and its dreadful twin are pools of molten metal.

When a journalist suggested that the terrible monstrosity had merely worn out one of its locomotive rotators, K'Breel had the traitor's gelsac mutilated immediately.

    Apologies to TripMaster Monkey.

Of COURSE their going to be against whatever the Republicans say or do. They're the MINORITY PARTY. Their job right now IS to oppose. When Republicans are in the minority, THEY oppose what the Democrats do. Look at the recent Virginia gubernatorial election. Kilgore was against everything Kaine said; he didn't have Mark Warner's endorsement.

And btw, sorry about the first part looking a bit like a Star Wars scroll.

Actually, the F word is an acronym. During the Victorian era, when there was a crackdown on prostitution, police would write down "For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge" when arresting someone. Since that's an awful lot to write, it was soon abbreviated.

What happened to #5 on 1992_Called's Open Letter to T/\/\/\/\? You used to reply to your SlashStalkers all the time, making your posts quite fun to read. Now you just ignore them. Since your karma has been maxed out, and it isn't about karma anyway, what do you have to lose? I'm sure I'm not the only one who misses your artfully written responses.

Of course, your Stalker will probably reply to me saying something obscene, or a modder will mod me offtopic or something, but it's not about karma and maybe I will make a response of my own.

Just a few things to point out:

It's just as bad as the idiots who fall for trolls and waste their mod points by applying negative mods when there are other posts deserving of positive mods.

Like YOUR post? You could have just left TMM's post alone, but you had to be one of those trolls and waste, at the time of this posting, two mod points, that could have, as you said, been used on a post that deserved to be modded up.

my non-AC account's karma is excellent

How do we know that? You could be a UID of ~940k that was just created to launch your troll ammo. When Slashcode gets clever and bans your username's AC posts, you'll just create another account. To be fair though, you could be Taco himself (or TMM or even me).

Also, if you have a good account, why are you posting AC? Worried you might lose some of your precious karma? Interesting. You want to accuse TMM of karma whoring while you are doing exactly that.

And don't even think about giving me some BS about you wishing to remain anonymous. Be realistic. Are you ever going to meet the TripMaster in person? If you do, will you actually know it?

You know what? I actually agree with you about the medieval theocracy thing. These Christianity-abusing extremists are causing the slow collapse of society. School systems requiring intelligent design? The far right trying to win votes in elections by accusing the other side of being "godless lib-er-als" and succeeding? This is abuse, and I am conservative and Christian! If they want to find someone who really is evil, they ought to examine Bush's number 2 and the events leading up to the Iraq War. But they're too afraid of finding planks in their eyes.

This has also shown up outside of politics. Anyone who has been keeping up with The Amazing Race: Family Edition knows how the Florida team will loudly proclaim their religious faith but act absolutely rotten to everyone else. It's these sorts of people who fuel my loathing for hypocrisy. And the "energy is liberated through blasphemy" troll isn't making anything any better.

What's worse, society is allowing these things. Remember the Dixie Chicks saying that Bush makes them ashamed of being from Texas? Do we hear them on the radio anymore? How about Janet Jackson and the Superbowl? We want to shoot CBS for that but commercials can push erectile dysfunction and natural male enhancement drugs at all hours? "Will someone please think of the children" indeed!

Examine the fall of the Roman Empire and compare it to modern American society. It sure frightens me.

You by no means deserve this troll moderation, and this is coming from someone who has you marked as "foe". Just thanks for giving me the opportunity to vent this frustration that has been building up for a while.
