  1. Integration on Apple and Nike Team up for iPod Shoe Interface · · Score: 4, Insightful

This must be part of the wireless patents Apple filed for a while back. I would not at all be surprised if this idea of wireless integration gets incorporated into more and more things. Imagine if you could carry your ipod with you all day and have it work automatically with your home stereo, shoes, car, etc. The ipod could become much more than an mp3 player, and could help collect data (pedometer, etc) and stream music to different sources automatically.

This seems like exactly the thing Jobs and Apple would pursue, a seamless system of wireless integration would perfectly embody their philosophies of style, power, simplicity, and having things 'just work'. It may be just a new shoe accessory right now, but I for one could see this type of technology evolving into new areas

    1. Apple is one of the few companies who actually care about their customers (Probaly because of the low market share).

I agree that they are one of the few companies that care about their customers, but they're market share is quite high. In fact, I don't see anybody else making OSX compatible machines. And if you are including them with window's machines, they are also one of the only companies supplying to the high-end 'luxury' personal computer market. You can't say they have low market share in the general personal computer market, because they aren't aiming at that market.

They also aren't advertising for it. In a similar article, they disucss Dell's marketing scheme for this product.

"Dell has launched a digital music player dubbed the DJ Ditty in what it calls its first "word-of-mouth" promotional campaign. The vendor announced the player in the US only with a banner on its website, and stated that it is getting the word out through employees and customer focus groups. Dell has also launched a special multimedia site targeting young buyers. The announcement was so low-key that a UK spokeswoman was unaware of the launch. "We don't get US announcements but I wouldn't be surprised if it were available here soon," she said."

Welcome to Duluth, Minnesota. Hurricanes, tsunamis and earthquakes are impossible, it is on a steep hill overlooking Lake Superior, so flooding is impossible, and there has never been a recorded tornado. But in Minnesota we don't consider ice storms natural disasters.
