This must be part of the wireless patents Apple filed for a while back. I would not at all be surprised if this idea of wireless integration gets incorporated into more and more things. Imagine if you could carry your ipod with you all day and have it work automatically with your home stereo, shoes, car, etc. The ipod could become much more than an mp3 player, and could help collect data (pedometer, etc) and stream music to different sources automatically.
This seems like exactly the thing Jobs and Apple would pursue, a seamless system of wireless integration would perfectly embody their philosophies of style, power, simplicity, and having things 'just work'. It may be just a new shoe accessory right now, but I for one could see this type of technology evolving into new areas
But if they were tapping your calls, they would know that you two only talked about how life changed, what you did, you got married, got a job, and whatever. They would already have the evidence that you weren't involved.
1. Apple is one of the few companies who actually care about their customers (Probaly because of the low market share).
I agree that they are one of the few companies that care about their customers, but they're market share is quite high. In fact, I don't see anybody else making OSX compatible machines. And if you are including them with window's machines, they are also one of the only companies supplying to the high-end 'luxury' personal computer market. You can't say they have low market share in the general personal computer market, because they aren't aiming at that market.
I know this is extremely off topic, but whatever.
How was Rose-Hulman? Im starting my senior year in high school, and of course I'm looking at colleges. Rose-Hulman is ranked really high in the engineering programs, but how was it there?
They also aren't advertising for it. In a similar article, they disucss Dell's marketing scheme for this product.
"Dell has launched a digital music player dubbed the DJ Ditty in what it calls its first "word-of-mouth" promotional campaign.
The vendor announced the player in the US only with a banner on its website, and stated that it is getting the word out through employees and customer focus groups. Dell has also launched a special multimedia site targeting young buyers.
The announcement was so low-key that a UK spokeswoman was unaware of the launch. "We don't get US announcements but I wouldn't be surprised if it were available here soon," she said."
This might have been a viable competitor with the iPod Shuffle, but only if people know about it.
Frankly, there aren't many places that are immune to natural disasters.
Welcome to Duluth, Minnesota. Hurricanes, tsunamis and earthquakes are impossible, it is on a steep hill overlooking Lake Superior, so flooding is impossible, and there has never been a recorded tornado. But in Minnesota we don't consider ice storms natural disasters.
I for one will never pay a monthly subscription for a game. Its like those music services where you get unlimited songs, but only while you pay; you stop paying, you lose everything. It doesn't make much sense to me. At $15 dollars a month and $50 upfront cost, it costs almost 400 dollars to play for 2 years. Is WoW really worth that much?
Yes, better than expected. They thought they would get $40,000-$60,000, but they got $118,000. Luke's lightsaber still brought in more money than Vader's. I can see not reading the article, but not reading the post you are replying to? That's just sloppy.
Also performing far better than expected was the lightsaber used by Skywalker's dark nemesis Darth Vader in 1980's The Empire Strikes Back, which fetched $118 000 dollars instead of the estimated $40 000 - $60 000.

Hey, I wouldn't mind getting paid just to write a blog about baseball. It would sure beat working at McDonalds.
Tango Project to Make Open Source Beautiful?
What could be more beautiful? Is it not?
Nothing for you to see here. Please move along. This time it makes sense!
...who alledgedly used the toxbot trojan to create a botnet of over 100000 machines.
It seems a little harsh to get arrested for only infecting 32 machines.....

Why? You would be getting exactly what you played for.
recreation: not so much, no.
You don't call floating around in zero gravity recreation? Sounds like a good time to me...
For once, the redundant moderation actually makes sense....
Could this be what NASA and Google are going to start working on?
Now that is an idea. Get NASA to launch a fleet of google satellites capable of blanketing the world in free connectivity!
TINSTAAFL - There is no such thing as a free lunch. The fundamental principal of economics.
Of course, you could have just looked at the title of your comment (Re:There's No Such Thing As A Free Lunch)

If i hadn't spent all my mod points I would have moded this funny.
...the landing was shot in a government sound studio located in NASA's secret moon base.
I mean come on people, how is that not funny?
Good point. That is exactly why I have a home theater and wait for DVD releases.
And I don't play the latest games, I use a mac.
Oh come on, an inch of ice isn't a disaster. Sure, nobody has power for a few days, but it happens almost every year. We're used to it.

That was a big one though.

The real reason they changed to Joomla! is that it is just more fun to say.
This could be hurtful! Everyone should be a winner!
Think of the children!

$200,000 > $118,000.
...George Lucas's cult Star Wars series...
Christianity used to be a cult too, but I don't hear it being called that anymore. I think Star Wars has grown out of 'cult' status.
I'm just waiting for this to be duped tomorrow.
