Their are serious problems in middle management. Don't be surprised if the company collapses in the next decade. 21. Its time to change and innovate. on Should Linux Have a Binary Kernel Driver Layer? · · Score: 1

I read few postings on how binary drivers are a bottleneck and why API can't be given. Their are two ways to argue. One is Kernel devs/Linus is forcing to open source for your driver so that they can integrate the driver into kernel and as it its said in Greg's email Simple, get your kernel driver into the main kernel tree (remember we are talking about GPL released drivers here, if your code doesn't fall under this category, good luck, you are on your own here, you leech .If your driver is in the tree, and a kernel interface changes, it will be fixed up by the person who did the kernel change in the first place. This ensures that your driver is always buildable, and works over time, with very little effort on your part.
Some are valid points like the discussion of how USB interface changed 3 times. This is the way Open Source works. What is the need of the hour is a software engineering process that can bridge the gap between open source developers and companies who want to support linux without investing lot of resources.
Just like how GOOGLE came and killed big monopolies, some company will come and change this to ultimately benefit the consumer. I am glad vendors now have an open mind to support Linux.
Don't even dream to kill the evil empire with such an attitude. Change and Innovate, else stop whinning about the evil folks, you are no better
