  4. Alfresco Enterprise, Workdesk, and Cloud. on Ask Slashdot: Secure DropBox Alternative For a Small Business? · · Score: 1

You are stating that you need a secure data solution under ITAR, keeping your cloud based data within the USA. Alfresco Enterprise http://www.alfresco.com/ would be a solution, since you can limit what data is being handled by your users via the web, mobile or PC via role based management using Alfresco Share. Developer tools for Alfresco allows you create custom plugins, if one does not exist at the moment, have your developer team create a custom plugin to meet those requirements (say, ITAR??). And it works with either Windows or Linux. Data inside your firewall is kept secure on both sides of the firewall. Will probably catch hell for even suggesting this for your organization.

But the best one was the first time we all met him...encountering a Hare Krishna....with the "Pear Pimples for Hairy Fishnuts" reply. Go back in time. Remember a time when politcal humor was meant to be funny and not crass and callous as it is today with people like Steven Colbert and Jon Stewart. Berke Breathed poked fun at situations, he didn't rattle the bear's cage all the time. And as for his children's books, he has made a couple of cute ones, such as "Red Rider Came Calling" and "The Last Bassalope" and one of my personal faves, "Edward Fudwupper Fibbed Big", a story about one child's lie that can cause big trouble. So its sad to see Opus go. He can have a Herrring Whopper on me, heavy mayo :)

I would suggest that you go to your local independent hobby store in your town and find first, and foremost, the AD&D first edition rule books. Forget about second and third editions for a while. The reasoning behind this is that the old, and I do mean OLD rules are not so constraining as the new rulesets are (and they are not poisoned by the WOtC/Hasbro crap).

Once you get the books, get the dice, and i mean several DICE (d4, d6, d8, d10, d12, d20) and ROLL out a character...no computer programs please. Let fate cast your fortune in the creation of your character. (And please stay away from the Paladins, plaase...arrow of paladin kill is always on someone's list of weapons...)

Get some friends together and have them create their own characters.

Read the DM's guide, and create your own storyline. Weave a tale with your party members.

Working in the technical field, a good portion of the resumes that are sent to future employers are tossed within minutes because the applicant misspelled a word, or used incorrect grammar in a sentence.

Spelling and grammar counts everywhere you go these days, it is a reflection of your background and education, and if you dn not show it properly, it makes a poor reflection on you.

This was drilled into my head when I was young. (God bless those Catholic nuns who made me stay after school to make me recite my prepositions and nouns and verbs until it was right.)

Another bad habit people have are the use of contractions in their sentences. To another person, it is a lazy way of not writing out your thoughts and views properly.

I was also forced to use the book "The Elements of Style" by E. B. White. in high school to write my papers with. Unfortunately these days everyone just cuts and pastes their information from the Internet with little regard for individuality and actually WRITE a paragraph on what they found.

So boys and girls, learn a lesson. If you are unable to spell the word, sound it out, find your dictionary and thesaurus, and make yourself look good. Then you can move up in the world.
