Thinkpad 240s run on C366s. Try doing realtime MPEG-4 encoding on that.. or anything else less than 1 GHz for that matter. Any laptop that can do what this can do is going to run you 800 on eBay easily. Plus it is about 1/8 the size.
See here for the original/. store describing the Quack / Quake 3 cheat ATI had a while back. MUCH worse than the current NVidia cheat IMO.
Regardless of if you think it is worse, the point is that BOTH companies have cheated in benchmarks so there is NO point in "glorifying" ATI at NVidia's expense. They are just as bad if not worse (and their drivers blow ass ).
Why has everyone forgotten the http://www.hardocp.com/article.html?art=MTEx">Quac k.exe cheat ATI had with the first radeons? That was (IMO) far worse than what NVidia is doing, since it affected a popular GAME not some lame benchmark that means nothing.
In Canada we have holograms embedded into all bills 20 dollars and up. While some crooks have indeed gotten away with glueing on fake holograms, anyone with half a clue could tell simply by touch that the bills were fakes. Then again, from my experience people arent checking bills too throughly at busy nightclubs.. I am sure in a single night at the ones around here you could pass at least 1G in fake 20s without a problem at all.
Haskell: The Craft of Functional Programming. We took Haskell as one of the courses in my programming languages course, and this was our textbook. It's kind of more geared toward "Haskell for OO / procedural Programmers" than the "haskell for Lisp" you are looking for, but it was a very nice book, easy to read, yet packed with just about everything you need to know.
"Gather around ladies and gentleman for the most outrageous, the most stupendous, the most fabulous, the most amazing wine you have ever tasted! This wine will knock your hat off, knock your socks off, knock your block off! I say I say again, the match of the millenium, they will call this wine "the tasteah oh the greatah", "the wineah oh the fineah"!
Ive been using them non-stop since I was 15. I read alot as a child (go hardy boys!) and am still a very good / fast reader, though I don't do it much anymore. Eyes ar eblue (what does that matter?) I can see average in the dark I suppose...
Monitor settings dont matter... I have had many monitors over the years. I just hav eneve rhad a problem reading stuff on screen.. I never really got why people do.
It seems Google provided me with two invalid links, and I didn't bother to check them before submit... I am sure everyone is aware of how to use Google though so I won't waste my time finding more links:P
In Moncton, NB, Canada (where I was born), there is a tourist attraction called Magnetic Hill. It is a really cool experience where you park your car on a hill, and it (seemengly) rolls *up* the hill. This was not designed by "imagineers" or anyone else, it is a natrually occuring illusion... something to do with the way the land grades there in relation to the center of earths gravity. Water also flows uphill there.. totally naturally. Its the only place I know of in the world where this happens.
I find reading on a screen much easier. I never print anything, and actually prefer to read books, news, and magazines online so that I don't waste paper.
The dirvers were ported from FFMpeg, and MPlayer supports FFMpeg codecs (and actually uses them as the priority). So simply update your MPlayer ffmpeg dir and have native Sorenson wihtout the Win32 DLL hack.
What the hell kind of bullshit statement is that? What, a lesban duo has no chance of ever making a hit record or what? Kind of a backwords hick attitude you have there. We live in the 21st century here bub.
It is common knowledge that they're a couple. Stop spewing shit and check your facts.
You're forefathers thought the second amendmant was a good idea cause they needed their guns to wipe out the native americans that were runing your land opportunities by existing. Stop waving around an outdated right-wing idea as a godsend.
You do realize that gun control is a left-wing promoted action right? And that Hitler was a Facist? As in, the total OPPOSITE spectrum of what you are talking about?
Nice try, give me a call when you move back to reality.
Of course they are reviewed for the average consumer.. hence "Consumer Reports". But if you are a hard core PC'er (like me) then you don't need some reveriers opinion in the first place, you should have enoughe xperience and be well enough versed in the technicalities to choose products youself. I would never buy a PC from *ANYWHERE* just because *ANYONE* said it was "#1", I would look at the specs, see if they're in line with what I want, the manufacturers of the cards, OS support, etc etc.
The same is true of any other consumer product, but thing is, no one is an *expert* at *everything*. When I want to buy a coffee maker or a toaster oven, I am not really interested in tweaking it out, or how many BTUs it puts out at -20 in an igloo, or if the coffee maker supports RFC 2324. I want to know how it stood up to their tests of what an average Joe uses it for, and how these compar ein terms of price, so I can get the best machine for my money. Belive it or not, this is what most people want out of their computers as well... they don't care if the modem is a winmodem that doesn't work in linux, or if the sound cards is software based... all theyc are about is "when I turn it on, does it not crash" and "is the support good" and "how much is it".
The problem I have though is stopping eating, when I'm hungry, or at least think I'm hungry I eat/drink. I'm starting to work on grabbing a water bottle instead of a coke now though and other such changes.
This is the KEY to losing weight, and no one I find focuses on this enough. If trying to lose weight, and you get hungry outside your meal allotment, then do not eat, drink (and NOT pop).. Get a tal glass of ice water, or a tall class of OJ or other citrus. The water has no calories, and the citrus much less than anything you would eat for a snack. Plus you will find the coolness perky and actually wake you up, unlike fatty snacks like chips that slow you down.
You will find that a nice cold glass of water/juice more than cures your hunger for the few hours until your next meal. Not only does this help keep your caloie count down, it hydrates your body, which any doctor will tell you is good for you anyways. I find that this tip, the tip of drinking, not snacking, is one that is not metionened nearly enough in popular weight loss literature.
They don't accept any form of advertisement, and (unlike any other review source of any kind I know of) do not allow ANY of their reviews or material to be used in ANY advertising campaigns. They instantly go after any company that attempts this. Also they aren't afraid to pull punches, and are often instremental in getting things recalled that have saftey implications.
Not only that, but they lobby the government for lots of consumer protection and saftey regulations from everything from auto saftey, and childrens toys, to DRM (yes, consumer union is fighting for us in the DRM arean as well).
Based upon what? Anyone remember 6-7 years ago when NVidia was in a head to head war with 3DFX (ATI was not even on the map) and 3DFX was clearly the dominant player? NVidia ended up buying them. And up until around 1 year ago ATI was light years behind NVidia. Just because ATI is currently ahead by a VERY small margin does not mean they are anywhere near assured a smooth ride. Plus NVidia has alot going to it that ATI does not. I for one will never buy a card from ATI due to their extremely poor track record with driver stability and customer service. Not to mention NVidia has rock solid drivers available for my favorite platform (Linux) while the corrosponding ATI drivers blow ass and offer a miniscule set of features.
Well this is the exact opposite of the Linux drivers. They work flawlessly and install easily and give you advanced options and direct access to the hardware through simple perl scripts.
it's not in the government's best interest to research drugs. the sick and elderly are a drag on our economy (sentimentality aside) and the dark forces that control things would sooner see them die than waste a cent prolonging their life
YEAH that makes sense... with the largest voting demographic in the country (baby Boomer Generation) all becoming senior citizens, lets let them all suffer and die so none of them want to vote for us.. right....
Hint, in a publically funded system, taking care of the elderly and the general population is in the governments best interest because it is what gets them re-elected.

Hint: Solving murders faster should not be the goal, the goal should be not having murders in the first place.

You have a gun, I have a gun. I am behind you. You look to be affluent. Boom.
You have a gun, I have a gun. I am much youger than you, am very confident I can get my gun out faster. Boom.
You have a gun, in its usual place (holster, inside pocket). I have a gun, in its usual place (concealed in my inner sleeve). Boom.
... Need I go on? Honestly, you "Arm the masses!!! It will cut down on violent crime!!!"... Americans confuse the hell out of me.

Neo is just his persona, and as Neo he has no last name.

This has been around since Netscape Navigator 2.0 at least.. probably was in 1.0 as well.
