Actually I haven't shopped at Wal-Mart in a long time. A primary factor in that decision goes back to when I had bought a CD from their music section and afterward realized they had "sanitized" the lyrics without giving any notice to the purchaser, as if they were doing me a favor.
Actually, that would be an interesting social experiment. Talk to the Windows Guru, mention you're going to go look at the Macs, and see if they respond negatively to the idea. If they do, mention that Macs can run Windows, and the idea of Windows hasn't been ruled out completely, you just may want both worlds. If the Guru's head hasn't exploded at this point, ask them if they're more interested in selling Vista or if they want you to buy any hardware other than a Mac.
That being said, I go to the Apple Store that's a little further out of the way on some occasions. I usually get greeted and asked if I'm looking for anything specific. I'll say I'm just looking around, and they smile politely and let me browse.
Now, the "Genius" they have in the Best Buy Apple Section is more in line of the Windows Guru seems to be, a salesman. I walked into that section and she was absolutely relentless. She asked if I could help, I said I'm just looking. She asked what I was looking for, and I said I was just browsing various things I might need in the future. She asked what I do with the computer, and I told her I do some graphics and web design, and I was just checking out some NAS options. Then she starts pitching.Mac at me. I told her I didn't need.Mac for my projects, and I kept looking at the external drives and the Time Capsules. Then she started throwing iLife in my face. I told her that wasn't going to do what I need to do. I said I work with a lot of SQL DBs and write everything in PHP. She actually said "But you won't need to do that anymore with iLife". I asked her if she had been listening to a word I had said, or if she was just picking up keywords and throwing back responses she thought fit best.
Now I always go to the Apple Store when I need to buy things for my Mac. If the Windows Gurus will be anything like the Best Buy Mac Fanatics, they won't last long.
Then couldn't the legitimacy of the vote be brought into question? If there's no documentation saying "This vote happened, with these people for and these people against", I would hardly consider any of those votes to be valid at all.
I also find the use of the measurement "score" to be a bit odd. A score is what, 20 people? How many scores are we talking about? And how many confirmed scores of Vista users are out there? It's a very odd way to calculate affected users. (Plus, we've not even gotten into what other common software (other than Vista and iTunes) that these users are running. It could be something relating to Weatherbug or that Windows AV 2008 thing going around.
I don't know why, but I really don't like the idea. Even on Google Docs I only put up things that I'm perfectly willing to have comprimised. The idea of having an intermediary overseeing any of my data just encourages me to go out and by an external drive or two.
I tried Amazon Prime. I got a free trial and decided to pick up some random things that didn't qualify for the super-saver shipping.
The problem with that, is while the 3-5 day shipping comes UPS at around 6:00 PM, when I'm home from work, the 2-day shipping comes during business hours and requires a signature and they won't leave it with the apartment's office. So in order to get the items I ordered I had to drive 30 minutes to the UPS center, wait until they opened it for pick-up, and then wait for my driver to show up with my delivery.
I cancelled AP before it rolled over into a charge. I was hoping there was some sort of feedback form, but there was not.
Be careful of any special shipping you get from Amazon, because there's a chance it becomes two-day-get-your-butt-over-here-and-pick-it-up-yourself.
I recommend returning to Pen and Paper voting, and then using those paper ballots to vote out the officials who had paid to bring in these obviously inferior devices for wasting tax payer dollars.
Actually, after a little more research, the Olympic Committee (at least in the US) has an exclusive right granted to it by Congress, which restricts others from using logos that are five interconnecting rings. I'm not sure if this was extended to outside the US.
So, if the video is using a parody of the logo, it's probably more for the use of the logo than the content. Plus I can't imagine the IOC wants to be associated with the atrocities alluded to.
The IOC is very protective of their logo. If I remember correctly, the card game "Legend of the Five Rings" had to change their logo because the IOC threatened legal action over a passing similarity.
Ballmer: Wow! Bogusky: I know. Ballmer: It's incredible! Bogusky: Isn't it? Ballmer: I didn't think the commercial would look this good! Bogusky: Yeah, a lot of people don't use iMovie to it's full potential, but we make it work.
I'm sure the creators loved all the press attention they have been recieving lately... additionally, I bet Hasbro regrets not giving these guys job offers rather than legal complaints.
I had read a report just the other day (wish I could find the URL. I think it was Betanews.) that said Hasbro did offer to buy the product, and the programmers refused.

Is walmart's digital music service good? Is is profitable?
Wal-Mart has a digital music service?
In all seriousness, I did not know this. I never see it advertised anywhere.

The store by me has a nice Apple section as well.

funny? only slightly, but i still dont want to buy or use vista...
I hate Vista too, but have you tried Mojave? It's awesome!

Can someone explain why the RIAA is entitled to harrassing people, now not only with their own witchhunters but by people that YOU pay for?
My guess is campaign contributions.

Let me know when this DVD copier actually lets me copy DVDs that can be played on a DVD Player.
Yeah, but at least then people would pay to see crappy movies and listen to horrible music. Right? All problems solved? No? Oh.

I do one better. I use inkblot tests. I can leave them in plain sight and their totally secure.
Co-worker: Your password is "flower"?
Me: What? No. It's "zombie clown hitting fish with hammer". What's wrong with you?
Well i'll be darned, I guess someone should call the XHTML2 camp and tell them they lost the war!
Nah, don't bother them. They're busy working on the HD-DVD website.

What's with the "signed" tag on all of the recent stories?
Slashdot now signs all of their stories for the hearing impaired.
The end result...

I mean does anyone know a modern linux distro that runs on a 8 bit processor?
If not, I bet there's someone who considers your question to be a challenge, and will now make one.
OOPS! we were hacked! our source code was stolen!
OMG!! It's all over pirate bay! sorry!
In other words, legally say "Blizzard.... Go To Hell."
Except, it's not legal if MDY claims this happens in court, when in reality the story is a bit fabricated.
Also, doing so before the court has a chance to accept or deny Blizzard's request may not help MDY's case at all, and end up costing them.

Do we have enough porn for an entirely new Internet?
3. Calling ex-girlfriend after 10 pm will be charged at time-and-a-half.
That might be a great deterrent, actually.
Isn't this the eighth or ninth time this year that they've "discovered" the inner workings of this damn thing?
It's hard to say. They're also using the device to keep count... They think.
