I hope you don't actually think that the reason we've been staying here for so long is so that Saddam Hussain will be executed.
The fact of the matter is that this doesn't change anything. Saddam is a political playpiece, a trifle, a sideshow. The real happenings are on the battlegrounds, in the parliment, in the streets of Iraq. Saddam is a toy, nothing more.
Maybe. The real question you are asking, though, is whether you think each and every slashdotter should expect an interview from us. Personally, I believe that that's a preposterous suggestion, since we simply do not have all the time in the world.
Strangely enough, I'd had no crashes, but I've had cases where Beryl changed the saturation of the window to indicate that it was unresponsive, but changed it right back when I started interacting with it. I've never had that happen to me with any other app.
Thankfully enough, I already conducted compatibility testing for the sites I manage with IE7 RC2. With the exception of one really messed up website whose design is due for a refresh anyway, everything worked fine with IE7 out of the (metaphorical) box.
Let's set the record straight: Personal responsibility is a universal idea, invading other countries for no reason is a hawkish idea, social measures to help impoverished people is a liberal idea, and trickle down economics is a conservative idea (ha!).
Superset? All free speech is pornography, but not all pornography is free speech? Call the white house, I think we finally found a way to get those pesky critics off the president's back!
Actually, I think that it's as the following:
Alphas are NOT feature complete, but are vaguely usable.
Betas are feature complete, but not fully refined.
RCs are considered pretty much fit for release, but need some more testing.
Breaking into people's personal computers is every bit as romantic as shooting someone in the face. The fact of the matter is that an arbitrary execution flaw will not be used to free up the flow of information, except for the flow of information about p3n1s p1lls onto every fresh patch of the `net, always provided to us graciously by zombie machines.
You want to wake up? Here's some up-waking for you: Hacking isn't about allowing "free speech" on the internet (which already exists), it's about getting big money from underground Mafias. These people aren't disclosing the flaws to Mozilla's bug bounty program simply because they think they can make more than $500 via spyware and virii.
First of all, your assumption that social interaction means parties, promiscuity and binge drinking is completely off the mark. Social interaction is, first and foremost, about living in a world in which other people exists (and, as much as I hate to break it to you, they do). Also, despite the way many middle to high school teachers treat it, socializing is not a condemnable activity; It is, in fact, part of a healthy life.
Also, you assume that only "academic" subjects are important to learn, but many subjects, such as social interaction, understanding other people, learning to exchange ideas and feelings, and general social literacy, are at least as important as the subjects taught in class, if not more.
To give you a practical example of this, I'd say that from all the things that I learned in eighth grade, the most important was fluency in English, which I did not learn in any class. Instead, I learned it by talking to people in english, and by using english more often than I ever did when I was in my native country (Israel), the results are clear: I forgot completely how to use CAD programs or what exactly happened during the civil war, but my knowledge in English satyed with me up to now (OK, so I'm only a high school Junior, but I don't think I'll lose my fluency in English later in life).
The fact of the matter is, if all you learn is what is taught to you in a classroom, you will learn very little.
It depends quite a bit on which laptop you have. My Acer Aspire 3618AWLi works perfectly with Ubuntu right out of the box. My previous laptop, on the other hand, which was an HP ze4805us, worked much less than perfectly, requiring Ndiswrapper to connect to the internet wirelessly.
Generally speaking, most of the Intel centrino stuff (wireless card, graphics card, soundcard etc.) works well with Linux, so that's a tip.

That's already being planned.

"Retarded" used to be a medical term, but they dropped it when it became a societal one.
Actually, it is randomized each time it serves the page.
What extension do you use? FasterFox, certain greasemonkey scripts, and others have been known to have memory leaks.

congratulations, you make absolutely no sense.

As is breaking Content Restriction And Protection, not that any self-respecting geek would care.
In other words, it's the difference between Enron and organized crime. They're both big criminals with lots of money, but one of them is incorporated.

Uh, Vim with syntax highlighting?

Your immediate assumption might be that alien intelligence must be superior, but why would you assume that?
The headline is a bad grammar.
Unless you're a web app, in which case Beta is the new 1.0.
What idiot modded this funny? This is obviously a serious comment, not a joke.

Ah, there's nothing like the smell of fresh FUD in the morning.
Last I checked, the internet is a bunch of data being moved using the TCP/IP protocol.
