    it starts being a problem when only 67% of the uploaded data can be accounted for. so out of the over quarter million registered users and the 2 million unregistered IPs that connect every day almost 750000 of them are faked. omlet, breaking a few eggs, you get the idea.

    I assure you, politicians don't build probes nor space shuttles.

    politicians may not make the space exploration vessels but they do have a huge hand in making sure they are made with the lowest quality materials while lining their pockets with the excess funds.

    Mental note, connecting 2 12v plugs into a drive does not turn a 7200RPM drive into a 14400RPM one.

    your thinking of Asphalt.

    the reason the roads go to hell in a few years is because of the way asphalt is designed and manufactured. if they were to use concrete instead the roads would last 5x longer but cost 2x as much.

    your local government (the one who is in charge of maintaining the road systems in your area) only wants to see temp fixes now, they dont care that if they pay more the roads will still be in great shape in 40 years, they wont be in office then. let the next guy take the blame.

    they would rather pay 500,000 now and 100,000 every 2 years in patch work for 20 years than pay 1,000,000 now and have roads that last 40 years.

    you hire the lowest bidder to do the work, you get the lowest quality as well.

    so, if they are all about open standards and against proprietary formats, why put out the announcement in pdf, one of the most proprietary formats ever made?
